I throw on a jersey for the bike, because I agree with Theresa, you really want to protect yourself from the sun. And I find that I always miss spots with sunscreen. For a sprint or even olympic distance, it's not that big of a deal, but if you're going to be on the bike for 3-4 hours, your back could get (literally) fried.

Tri Shorts (not bike shorts) and a sport bra/top are what I wear. The key thing ( I believe) is to make sure you put on enough sunscreen, esp if you are in a sport bra. I put two layers on before I head to the race and then another thick coat on my back before I zip up my wetsuit. I just learned from experience that if it is hot out your back gets fried :(. Weather dependent you may want arm warmers. I always wear a run hat or a visor too for the run.
Also Chamois butter helps with the comfort of the tri shorts too (I like assos cream).

Tri shorts/top you can purchase at any local tri shop.
