I myself will occasionally strain my back and feel better after riding.... Don't know if any of this applies to a fused disk situation... . I'm also 6'1", long legs. I've never ridden a recumbent bike but they look really comfortable. The only bike I've ridden is mountain bikes and racing bikes but that was all prior to back surgery 10 years ago. Now, it's only a Harley. I do own a Recumbent Stationary Lemond bike for the house.
