I have a 2005 Catrike Speed which has an aluminum frame. I always ride
with a gps and log my miles so I know I have put over 13,000 miles on
the trike and I weigh around 210 pounds. I once ran over a pit bull
going fast and went completely airborne and came down on the left wheel
so hard I split the rim down the middle. Once the tailgate of my truck
came open when I was taking the trike to the shop at around 35 mph and I
watched the trike go end over end down the highway in my rear view
mirror. The frame is as good as it ever was, don't worry about an
aluminum Catrike frame not lasting.
