I got my Catrike Expedition this week.  I haven't had the time to ride it much, but my initial impression is positive.  I installed a cyclocomputer and didn't believe  that I could be going that fast (15mph seemed like 12), so I rode a known distance to verify the settings.  The distance was right, so that would mean I was indeed going that fast with what seemed to be less effort as on my mountain bike or former recumbent, a Burley Canto in the short wheelbase config.   The low profile has to be the reason.  I think it more than makes up for the extra rolling resistance of a third wheel.  The only negative I would report is that you really feel pot holes in the road.  Oh well, pick better roads to ride on. Just for comparison sake, I am 6' 0" and weigh about 185#.

I chose the color black with matching rear rack and fenders all around.  It looks like a sleek Stealth Bomber.  I ordered a higher visibility orange flag and use the planet bike superflash on the back, and a helmet headlight.  The Shwalbe tires are reflectorized, so that adds to better visibility by motorists.  Motorists, so far have been polite, but I will reserve my opinion on that subject until I have put in more miles.

All in all, a sweet bike.  And pretty light.  It feels lighter than 35 pounds.

Keep on stokin',

Kevin
