RE: [TeamCatrike] Tire Size

A fatter tire will give a better, smoother ride. Trade off is some of the fatter tires will be slower than others. Someone else will have to give you specific brands as I do not know about 20” tires. I run the Scorchers on my 700 on the front and it’s a noticeable difference in ride, I have not yet experimented with the rear 700 tire, but plan on in the future.

As far as the chain tubes, yes, if you install the Terracycle idlers you should be able to remove the tubes. I run just a very short one, about 3”long, on the return chain where it crosses the crossmember. Some have just put some sort of protective covering on the crosstube for protection and have no tube at all.

Hope this helps,

James

I know this question has been addressed....but would like some
restatements from those who know first hand.....
I have an 06 Road.......

PLease tell me the advantages and disadvantages of placing a fatter
tire on the rear and keeping my Schwalbe Marathons on the front? It
was suggested that I use a 2.0 Schwalbe Big Apple. Please give me the
+'s and the -'s.
