Greetings VMX Fans!
Well, well...What a long strange summer it has been!
Coming off their victories at Mid-Ohio, I've traveled the globe with
cohorts PJ Read and Nigel Hollingsworth. Six long weeks in Australia, the
three of us partied our wheels off with Firko, only to cater to his every
cane wielding whim while he healed a bum rugby knee, reinjured in the Oz
VMX heat of battle! A quick road trip to St. Louis with Dr. Abbate and a
run-in with the Indiana State Police. We were strip searched on the side of
interstate 70...they didn't find a thing, except for a pair of.... Ok, I
promised Doc I wouldn't tell >:-} Then, to top it off, while in the great
Northwest, right in the middle of the Hammer&Tongs series, Nigel and I have
to play nurse-maid once again while Siege has his appendix removed! It's
tough running a race team!
....and then another friend dies young.
We all pause and realize our mortality....again.
McCookRacing.com is New with tributes to Jimmy, stories, submitted photo's,
useful articles and countless awesome links for the VMX enthusiast!
McCookRacing.com has evolved to mid-stream updates with an ever growing
archive to keep you awake past your bed-time and hyped up for your next VMX
race...or whatever it is that you do in real life!
Stay tuned!... it's your last chance to pop a vessel and come up with a
caption to win a now highly-valuable, 'collectors' Weedstock T-Shirt in
the MR Caption Contest!
See you there!
Cheers,
Michael #41

OK it's official- we're going to Washougal May 19-20 2007
this officially will be Hammer & Tongs AND Ahrma
in fact riders from any club
(like we don't all go to all of them)
we'll have Post Vintage and Vintage on different days
(details obviously have to be worked out yet)
and we'll have Trials for sure, likely a Cross Country as well.
this will be a real Vintage Weekend
i.e. not be shoehorned in with a modern race day.
we'll have to do a bit of sorting to combine classes from two slightly
different
structures, but we've done it before, and we're gonna do it again this
coming May.

If that link doesn't work for you (it might wrap in your email and you need to
copy the entire

Basically I was using a machine screw and nut to hold on my side panels. Does
anyone know
what the stock configuration is?
In the Blog is step by step on how I installed Dzus (quickturn) fasteners. It
was very easy.
Actually fun. :-)
Hi Rick,
Yes, I had a Buy It Now price that was the same
as I offered here, in addition to the regular
auction. A buyer took the Buy It Now option.

No interest from here, so I put it on ebay last night and it sold this
morning.
Thanks for the space,

Anyone have a hop-up article or upgrade info on the 120(250) or Yamaha 125MX?
I'm also interested in the tranny upgrade for the Bul.
If you do, look my up at the Phoenix race this Feb or Diamond Don's in April
for some awesome eats and drinks--Quail, fajitas, shrimp, venison, and a blended
margarita ! I'll be bagging some quail this winter for the Duel in the Desert.

Larry, I would have to assume the m194 had the greatest hp output, I've heard
these were fragile motors. A lot of parts on Bultaco motors are interchangable,
you really should get a parts book to varify what you are doing and the MK6
parts book lists the m100 center cases as starting with a 48 prefix so I would
assume that they are identical to the m89. Mike

hello everyone new member here !...............
and have arrived with some new questions about bultaco 125s
1, of the bultaco 125 pursangs does anyone know the most powerful
model built ?
2, are parts interchangable on 125 pursang engines ?
3, are m89 and m100 cases the same ?
i used to ride a 250 pursang when they were king in 1973,
a buddy of mine owned one, he paid 1200.00 for it brand new.
his name was birdy ........... and he went on to own a yamaha dealer
in pomona california.

I have an extra M49 that I am offering for sale. I bought it
intending it to be a parts donor for a M49 show bike project, but it
is too good of a bike to part out, so I am selling it to someone who
would like a nice rider that starts, runs and handles very well. I
have posted some pics in an album called M49 Sherpa T For Sale.
Email me at fredz43@... for questions. I have priced it
at $975 and am listing it on some Bul forums rather than using ebay
as I normally do, just to see what response I get.
It is a matching number bike that has many upgrades that may not
necessarily be the same as original. Items such as new shocks, IRC
tires, late model clutch basket, for example are improvements over
original.
I travel to several AHRMA events and can deliver to those on my
schedule for no charge.
Thanks,
Fred Z.
Cool pic!
Roger came ripping past me on the long straight at the Chehalis
Premier/Classic weekend (where that pic was taken) and damn near
ripped my goggles off!
Thanks Mike,
I e-mailed Woody and he is checking it out and says he probably
has what I need from a Pursang and maybe a Frontera. Lynn and
Dorothy Mobley are checking too in Minden NV. I sure one of them
will be able to get me going. Thanks again, Jeff

Does anyone have a 38mm triple clamp assembly for the 76 model that
they would part with? I'm trying to get a M167 back to the track here
in Florida. I,ve got two Buls a M136 and the M167 that are in the 250
and open picture section. I've got it bad also and will buy more as
soon as I can. I want thirty too! Bultaco Forever! Thanks, Jeff

On the contrary, we're all using YOU, as an excuse with our wives so
we can get more bikes.
Someone has to be at the top of the heap. You da' man Mike!!

forthcoming at some point. It's in Jay Lael's Stuff folder. Bye for
