Oh, I remember that one. Really rough.

I won't be bringing anything home this year except some bumps and bruise and a
grin or
two.

Went to this yesterday. Had a great time aside from the flat tire.

This will hopefully grow into an annual event.

Maybe even save a beer for you at Klamath Falls. Or, if it's as cold as last
year there... a

Will you have somewhere to hang the banner? If so we'll use that as the rally

We always camp next to "Bultaco" Bill Schweitzer but I don't now if he's coming

He stormed off last year when he was accused of leaving the gate early.

Just drop the banner off at our camp and I'll hang it up. I'll make sure there
aren't any of
those icky Yamahas near it.

I'll have more details the week before Chehalis.

I second the recommendation to use Kroil. It's an excellent product. Patience
is the key, as Rick says- "let it sit overnight" or even longer.

Thanks for your help. After trying several things, decided to cut off

Problem i have now is getting my polishing mop right into the front hub

Galvanic corrosion is the nasty stuff going on in the back ground, it's
especially attacks aluminum. Kroil works really good to get stuck parts free.
Best if you can spray it on and let it sit overnight..

I'm no metallurgist but I bet there is some nasty stuff that's happening between
the
aluminum and stainless steel.

Liquid Wrench, maybe a little heat first. Shouldn't take much to get the
aluminum to
expand. Another option (assuming you have the tire off, which I am assuming) is
to tap
the end of the spoke, not too hard but enough to jar it.

They sieze up pretty good. You might try some gentle
heat. The nipples are aluminum and you could ruin them
pretty easy but they're cheaper than new spokes.

WD40 is really good for some stuff but it isn't
penetrating oil. It works a little but not as good as
the real stuff.

Hi All

Anyone know how to remove the old stainless spokes from a rim. I've
tried WD40, and the first spoke just twisted till it broke.

Short of cutting them off i've run out of ideas.

Cheers

Hi Dave,

Team VME will be in full force at Chehalis. I will definitely stop
by for a chat. I had a condenser fail at the Hannagan trial and was
only able to finished one loop. I am waiting for a pile of new parts
from Speed and Sport and Bultaco to arrive, new handle bars, rear
shocks, and some tune up stuff. Hopefully Chehalis will be better
for me!

Ok, this is the official TeamBultaco Chehalis thread. With about two weeks to go
(and
know how low the traffic is here, and I'm bored...) let's see who's going and
such. Speak
up, even if you've never posted a single message.

What I'd like to try to do is get pictures of either all of the TeamBultaco
members who will
be there, or ideally a group photo.

There was a contingent from VME coming down. Anyone from CA coming up? Sure it
will
cost $5000 in gas but your kids college fund *really isn't* going to grow during
a
recession anyways...

Are people staying for both days? All three? My guess (until I hear from ya'll)
is that after
the trials on Saturday might be a good time.

My logistics just got a little weird as the wife informed me that we are going
to a wedding
in Seattle on Friday.

I'll be ready for the trials on Saturday, stay the night and race (I use that
term loosely) two
classes, 125 Sportsman NOV and 40+ NOV on Sunday. As you may know if you are
participating on Sunday it's a lot of waiting around for your heat, then a few
minutes of
sheer terror and then more waiting. If a lot of TeamBultaco is racing it will be
tricky gathering folks up.

You can find me at the RV with the large Uncle John's Vintage Racing banner.
Look for the
poor Bultacos surrounded by the awful Yamahas. Here's the picture from last
year. At least
stop by and say hi.
