Thanks to all of you who have called, sent emails or just had me in
their thoughts, it is very comforting to know that I have so many
friends that are concerned. I'm two weeks into the recovery and will
be on crutches for three months (yeah, that's what I said). I'm
planning on attending the North Forty vintage and post vintage
weekend on Nov 16th and plan on doing some good cooking and throwing
a Texas Motocross Party. We may even have a bloody mary bar (for us
non riders, of course) in the mornings. Everyone should try to
attend this inaugural event as it will have lot's to offer with the
flat track in addition to two days of motocross as the TVRC will be
hosting the vintage race on Saturday.
Thanks again for your concern..I really appreciate it!! Here's
looking forward to getting back!!
Gary Davis 42u

My 74 Pursang M121 also came with Telescos. The best thing I did with
them was sell them on ebay to a Spanish collector (they were like
new) and put Works Performance shocks on. Even the cheaper
Progressive Suspension shocks are much better than the Telescos,
unless you are looking for a "correct" restoration.

I have a set of the original Telesco 13.5 inch oil-only shocks as used
on the '75 Pursangs(136). Anyone have any detailed info on these
shocks? The general advice is to refill the inner cylinder with oil
just past overflow. The problem I see is the oil looks to be flowing
out of the inner cylinder as I fill it. Since I didn't have an accurate
quantity on the oil, my first attempt resulted in a shock that was
hydraulically LOCKED. Time to start over. Would be nice to know what I
should look for in the valving area. Also, there is a clover shaped
concave metal piece that sits inside the shock at the bottom. Should
this be a loose piece?
I'm trying them out with 5W Bel-Ray once I get a little more detail.
Any experts out there?

For the flywheel puller or any other parts or advice, my first stop
is always Lynn Mobley, of www.bultacoparts.com. It is best to phone

LS,

My son crashed wile racing the Adelanto GP a couple years, and sustained that
same injury. It's the same thing that happens to race car drivers when they hit
a wall at speed. The ankle can't absorb the impact and splits at the fibula. The
repair can be tricky, with multiple pins and rods involved depending on the
extent of the injury. My son's injury was pretty bad.

A buddy is looking for an already restored, or in great shape 77 to 79
350 Sherpa T. He wants something that's already ready to go, as he
wants to get into vinatage trails. He's in WA, so he's most interested
in something on the west coast.

I just talked to Gary Davis from Livingston, TX and he is in an
Albuqerque hospital with a broken ankle. Multiple fractures in the
lower tib/fib area and ankle.
He said is was attempting a pass, over-shot a corner around one of the
big jumps, and decided to keep it straight and try to save it-- off a
big dropoff. After landing on both wheels,on the pegs,he felt the pain
in the right ankle and knew it was not good.

He said he will have surgery in Houston as soon as he gets home.
Gary is a tough guy, with an upbeat personality, but don't forget to
let him know we are all behind him for a timely and complete recovery.
If you've been to any of AHRMA nationals, from Florida-Ohio-AZ, you
know what a fun, friendly, and accomidating guy Gary is.

He can be contacted at : Gary@...

Yes a push rod.

On some bikes it's a push rod, a ball bearing, and the the mushroom ended rod
that pushes
the flay bearing in the clutch.

I have to open up my clutch soon, perhaps I'll have some pictures.

I am not sure what goes on the inside of the sidecase where the
clutch arm comes down even with the spocket. is there a push rod that
comes from the clutch assembly side. I have a book but it does not
show that part.
Thanks

1. Buy a used tank.
2. Repair the existing tank (as per below)
3. Buy a new Sherpa T tank which should fit just fine, although I think some
models are
narrower (don't know about the years around your 85. And you'd have to repaint
if you
want the Alpina blue.

it has pin holes and the inside is falling a part.
I took it to a fiberglass place where i had my boat done
and he said it would have to be all refiberglassed and
it would cost more than i was willing to pay.
So I would like to get a different one.
