My name is Dave and I have a Bultaco. Which apparently is a pre-requisite around
here.
Maybe.

I got a M49 Sherpa T two years ago to go riding with my uncle, who needed
someone to
go to the vintage trials with. Way before that I had a Sherpa S 125 that someone
had
converted into a flat tracker. I could never get that thing started and
basically gave it away
(still kicking myself so no need to chastise me).

I haven't ridden all that much over the years, mostly spending time farting
around with old
British bikes (Norton, BSA, Triumph), so the trials has been a challenge.

I tore apart the Sherpa T over the winter and if you read any of my exploits on
the BOF
you'll know that it was an interesting experience. I managed to miss the first
H&T, the
Prineville event and also the last H&T (although not due to the bike). Getting
ready for
Chehalis #1 in a couple weeks.

I'm thinking about maybe trying out MX, if I can find something like a M68
Pursang, If not
I'll maybe give another try at a Triumph basketcase I've been sequestering for
far too long.

I've started a blog about the bike and me. http://web.mac.com/davefriesen/

I also keep M49 info on another page. http://homepage.mac.com/davefriesen/M49/
index.html

If I keep typing I'll probably get kicked off for rambling...

There's nothing wrong with customizing a bike. Though some think it's an abomination to customize as opposed to simply restoring the factory look, it takes a...
