Gentlemen,
First off I would like to thank Dave Davis and Rob Thomas for their
efforts in this year's election. These men put their asses on the
line and stepped up to the plate. A lot talk while a very few put the
rubber to the road. The men mentioned below were also apart of this
effort.
Mike Brady - President
Shane Parker – Sgt at Arms
Craig Saint Claire – Vice President
I would like to also thank those that came out tonight to support
those running against the current board and those who took the time
and effort to vote in this year's election.
390 some odd votes were counted. It came down to about 54% to 46%.
Unfortunately 54% of the votes did not go our way. The group we
supported did not win's tonight's election. However they did bring
many things to light and have given life to Folsom Shooting Club's
membership as a whole. This was the biggest election EVER in FSC
history. Once again thank you to all of you that supported this
effort.
I have some more news that directly impacts our club drastically.
At last month's BOD meeting it was made known that since we (Nor Cal
Practical Precision Rifle Club) identifies ourselves as a separate
club the match directors (Shawn and I) are not covered under the FSC
insurance umbrella.
Two suggestions were made by some of the board members at this time:
1) Fall inline with FSC and dissolve our club. Turn over complete
control of our club funds and assets.
2) Get our insurance and incorporate our club so that we are a
completely separate entity from FSC (Folsom Shooting Club).
Shawn and I have discussed this situation at length and have decided
to go with the later. I am currently looking into a 1,000,000 to
2,000,000,000 insurance policy sold by the NRA.
Bottom line is Shawn and I have worked too dyam hard and put too much
work into this organization to just hand it over. All of you that
have supported us over the last 2.5 years have put in your efforts
and time to support NCPPRC. We were going to go this route in a few
years as NCPPRC grows but now we have been pushed to move ahead with
our schedule and plan for our club.
What does this mean for you guys as shooters? Honestly men I have
some ideas but will not proceed without going over these thoughts
with out group as a whole.
After the next long range match on May 4th we will have a BBQ lunch
and a meeting to discuss this situation. For those of you that want
to have some input I suggest you show up to the next match.
