Welcome BACK to school! I hope you found some time to play Ultimate this
summer, and that you took your disc with you on vacation. To help us get
organized for the upcoming school year, please register at least one team
contact on our communication list.

Please, subscribe-txultimate@yahoogroups.com to be informed of our planned
Ultimate Activites throughout the year. Our organization depends on strong
volunteers. We hope your team/club will elect a captain, co-captain and spirit
representative. Choose which student leader you wish to enroll on the
communication list, or enroll all three.


STATE TOURNAMENT RESULTS

We will purchase a team photo for you to present to your athletic director,
faculty sponsor, or school. Please, let us know which shot you want us to make
for you, and put a picture of your team for all to see!

OUR YEAR A AT A GLANCE...

Fall---
We will host 3-4 recruitment events all over the state during the fall,
beginning in October. We hope that you will participate in those near you,
and encourage new players to join a weekly Ultimate experience at your school.
Let us know where you are, and we will try to get close enough for you to meet
others.

Winter---
We are planning league play during the winter months (december-march), so use
the fall to recruit and build your team. Most teams have both boys and girls
playing. We hope that those who are playing college will return throughout the
year to continue to build teams at your Alma Mater.

Spring---
We will again host our annual STATE tournament in the spring. Remember, those
roster rules allow recent alumni to play.


PE CREDIT for ULTIMATE CLUBS as AISD HIGH SCHOOLS

Thanks to years of campaigning and curriculum development, those players who are
in the Austin ISD can EARN PE CREDIT during the spring semester for each of
their four years of participating in a recognized club during high school (You
only need 3 PE Credits/years to graduate). Presently we have staff in place at
LBJ/LASA HIGH SCHOOL. Please contact me directly if players on your campus
wants to have an Ultimate PE Class scheduled on your campus. We will have to
recruit and train faculty as needed before the spring semester, so let me know
ASAP.



REGISTER YOUT TEAM!

Finally, teams who are interested in participating in these events for the
2008-2009 school year should complete the team application. Ultimate SPIRIT
teams must have a faculty sponsor (employed by the school district), a parent
coordinator, as well as student captains. We hope to inspire student
leadership through development of Ultimate Clubs in High Schools around the Lone
Star State. The application is available on our website.
