We are in need of a video camera to use for 3-4 practices
over the next few weeks as well as on our trip to Chicago. If you have one & are willing
and trusting enough to part with it for a few weeks we would be ever so
grateful. Footage will be used both for study for the team, but also in the
creation of a few wickedly edited clips of the team to use on the site.
7:30
p.m.--Uptown Theatre We’re guessing on the time, as of Monday night there
is no time posted on any film website for the twin cities. Could be 7PM but
they usually start @ 7:30 at the Uptown. And the fuckers don’t answer
their phones.(across Hennepin from Williams -- Lagoon

"Murderball"
"Played
in armored wheelchairs worthy of Mad Max, quad rugby (aka
“Murderball”) is a no-holds-barred,
highly competitive, physically violent sport whose competitors are
quadriplegics. Whether by car wreck, fist fight, gun shot or rogue bacteria,
these men are forced to live life sitting down. But in their own version of the
full-contact sport, they smash the hell out of each other in custom-made,
gladiator-like wheelchairs. And they don’t wear helmets! Co-directors
Henry Alex Rubin and Dana Adam Shapiro uncover uncommon humanity at the core of
men who shatter handicapped stereotypes and exemplify determination in the face
of extraordinary obstacles. Winner of the Audience Award for
Best Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival."
approx.
9:00 p.m.--post movie drinks at the 19 Bar (19 West 15th Street).
If
you have Mayhem gear...wear it.If
you don't, come buy some....
The coaches meeting this weekend has resulted in a team line up. Everyone will need to attend practice on Wednesday the 27th as we will introduce you to your positions.
We would also like to address the fact that due to a large number of players has resulted in a larger reserved list than anticipated. Those of you on this list, you need to understand that you will still be playing in a game. However, it will most likely be for only half of a game.
One last thing the team line up is tentative and subject to change as skills improve. Thanks guys for all your hard work and lets have a great season.
Sincerely,
Coach Jason, Asst. coach Anthony

If I Were the Marrying Kind This song is a classic and required knowledge by every rugger. Practically every team sings it, usually tweaking it to fit the team’s personality. Obviously not every verse is sung, because the song would be way too long, but we wanted to give you an idea of the variations.
I were the marrying kind Which thank the lord I'm not, sir the kind of rugger I would wed would be a rugby .....
HOOKER: Hooker sir!
GROUP: Why sir?
HOOKER: 'cause I'd swipe balls, and you'd swipe balls we'd all swipe balls together we'd be alright in the middle of the night swiping balls together
GROUP: If I were the marrying kind Which thank the lord I'm not, sir the kind of rugger I would wed would be a rugby .....

It’s coming up on that time gentlemen. We are to elect
half the board. One of the things that will set this club apart from the others
is our organization from the start. While we are still working out many bugs in
this fledgling year, it’s important to strive for excellence on & off
the pitch. Being on the board has meant a 2-4 hour time commitment per month
over the last few months, which will become less & less now as things are beginning
to run much more smoothly. Make no mistake, without the board jumping hurdles
& working in the background, we wouldn’t be as far as we are today. I
urge you all to consider taking a position.
The way the sitting board has worked things out: half the
board will be elected every January, the other half in July. This way we don’t
suffer from having an entirely new board all at once. The positions are to be
elected as follows.
January:
President
Match Secretary
Marketing
Treasurer
July:
Vice President
Social Chairs (2 Positions)
Membership / Recruiting
Fundraising / Sponsorship

ready if you wanna take it home!
Our kits were delayed by one more fucking day guys. Sorry to
have to tell you this. I’m awaiting the tracking # to confirm their
departure. I will have the kits at the pride booth as well as bring them to
practice on Saturday.
Sorry about this, but the shipping aspect has been out of
our hands.
They are shipping this afternoon, overnight. I will have
them sometime tomorrow afternoon. I will make myself available tomorrow evening

PRIDE 2005
Pride is going to be an extremely important time for us. It's our
biggest opportunity to recruit the additional players we will need if
we want a full back line to cover unavailable players and those who
might have injuries. It's gonna be our best chance to promote our
upcoming bachelor Auction. Which means it's a huge time for us to
raise much needed money for the club.
If you aren't out of town, your participation is expected!
To see where bodies are needed & to sign up for booth time at the
park please contact Randy Treasurer@...
SUNDAY June 26th Parade time!
All of Mayhem is expected to walk in the parade. This is also
important. With 28 members with kits & dues paid we will look
awesome. If only a dozen of us show, that will look lame. We are all
meeting in the Eagle Parking lot @ 10AM. In full kit (kit's to be
distributed at practice tomorrow night). Unless you are out of town
or have a good excuse in advance, your attendance and participation
are expected.
