The Oklahoma DPS has released its annual traffic accident results for
2004, the most recent year tabulated.
It reports that in Oklahoma over 600 accidents involved bicycles,
resulting in 6 deaths statewide. However there are probably many more
accidents that go unreported because cars are not involved, police are
not called, and the rider simply gets up, dusts off, and goes home to
patch up the roadrash.
So I've created an informal survey to attempt to find out more about
those unreported accidents.
If you've had an accident while riding your bicycle during 2005, please
complete the survey.
It's only 10 questions and shouldn't take more than a few minutes to
complete. No prizes and you will remain anonymous.
The final results will be posted here and on various Oklahoma Cycling
newsgroups.
