Another vote for the "tiny Sony".
I'm just nearing the end of a (primarily) bike trip in Thailand/China/Laos
where I've taken close to 2,000 pictures in 4 weeks. After much research
prior to my departure, I chose the Sony DSC-T10 - slightly smaller than the
later model T50 but basically the same camera except T50 has larger screen
size and touch-screen.
Having said that, a Sony employee was on part of the same trip and he had
purchased a Canon because of shorter shutter lag!
Sony has small size, sturdy lens cover, immediate startup, image
stabilization, good movie mode (and easy to switch back and forth from
still mode).
Disadvantages (some of which I'd read in reviews): Sometimes poor shots in
low light conditions, occasional blotchy shots (no explanation for this).
Good luck.

I love my tiny Sony. Perfect for travel, charges in an outlet, very
small. Go to the Sony Plaza store at 57th/Madison and you can handle a
variety of cameras and ask questions about the sorts of pictures you
will be taking.

Can anyone recommend a good, but small, digital camera to buy? I am
heading to Mallorca, Spain on a bike trip and I am looking for something
that will easily fit in my jersey pocket without being a hindrance.....
Thanks
