Brooklyn Half Marathon Program: The Brooklyn Half takes over 5000 runners from Coney Island to Prospect Park every spring. It is a beautiful, challenging race and a great reason to stay in shape through the cold winter months. Our training group will help keep you
motivated and on target to finish your first half marathon, or beat your personal best. Meets Saturday mornings at 9am and Wednesday evenings at 7pm.
Swimming Part I: Not just a weekend seminar, but a full 3 month program with weekly group workouts and specific individual workouts to help you develop good swimming form and become efficient and comfortable in long swims. For triathletes, we will also practice mass starts, sighting skills, and other triathlon specific skills. You must already be able to swim 50 yards continuously to participate. Meets Tues 8:30pm at Berkeley Carroll School, about a 5 minute walk from the Q or B train stop on 7th Ave. Limited to 12 people.
Swimming Part II: For anyone trying to improve their swim times & endurance, this program will help you understand your training zones and paces, and train you to maintain your form over long continuous swims, as well as maintain consistent pacing over multiple intervals. We will also practice sprinting, drafting, and other tri specific skills. You must be
able to swim 200 yards in 4:00 in order to participate. Meets Thurs 8:30pm at Berkeley Carroll School, a 5 minute walk from the Q or B train stop on 7th Ave. Limited to 24 people.
Indoor Cycling Program: This is the only comprehensive indoor cycling program in New York City that puts you and seven other riders on a simulated course using Computrainer indoor trainers. We will use different simulated courses to focus on strength, endurance, cadence, pedalstroke symmetry, hill climbing, and time trials. As part of the program, you will measure your
power output (wattage) at the beginning and end of the program to measure your improvement. This is not just a weekly class, it痴 a complete indoor training program. Each week the coach will schedule a series of drills and workouts to do on your own trainer at home. Meets Tues at 7:00 and 8:30 in Park Slope, location TBD. Bring your own road bike! Information Session Tues Jan 4 at 7pm at the JackRabbit. Limited to 16 people, 8 people per class.
Mooseman Half-Ironman: This 21 week program is designed primarily for people doing their first Half, or whose goal is simply to complete the race. The program starts on Jan 10 and runs through race day on June 5. It includes a two coached workouts a week: a swim workout on Wednesdays at 8:30pm at Berkeley Carroll School, and a coached run, bike or brick on the weekend. We値l be cycling indoors on Computrainers until it gets warm and outdoors in Prospect Park after that. In addition, the coaches will give you a workout schedule for each week, and we値l help people meet up to ride and run in uncoached groups. You値l also have three one-on-one sessions with the coach to review your progress, and you値l receive a custom designed strength training program to help you finish stronger and stay injury free. Each participant will receive a JackRabbit Tri top for the race, and we値l have a big
celebration dinner & party after the race. Participants should register for the race as soon as possible and plan on staying in the Moose Village Fri-Sun. We will arrange transportation for racers, spectators, and your bikes who need it for an additional fee. To partipate: You should be able to run 5 miles comfortably, and should regularly run at least 15 miles per week. You should be able to swim 200 yards continuously.
