Guys:
We had a server failure w/ the website. Here is the response I got
from my web tech....I'll keep you all updated on the progress. I
apologize for this, but there is nothing much I can do at this point
but wait for it to be fixed....Chad
Btw, it seems this is almost literally true. The server did melt down,
so to speak. It was hot enough to the touch where it was definitely
uncomfortable. I think we have a hardware failure. The question is
can I get all the data off of it. The server may be down for a couple
days. We've got a service contract on it w/ Dell, so it will be
repaired if necessary, but that usually takes at least a day or two.

Please forgive me. I was just using that list on the previous email to deceive the guys in front of me to think those are the guys I want. Actually my real list will be forwarded to Cliff.
My fault- a few people have thought that. I did it a day early and was afraid of that. Most of the time- it will be the night before so you will need to check the times out either before bed or when you wake up. You should have an idea about what time you will pick the next day from where the schedule ends that day.
Just a reminder before I head out for the afternoon- we are ahead of schedule and only have 3 afternoon picks left:
Ankeny 2:30
Cheyenne 3:00
Punxsutawney 3:30
Once the 3:30 pick is made- Tri City can start the night session with their 8:00 pick and if they chose to do so early, the next picks can be made. No one can be skipped until after their time frame is up. Thanks and any questions I should be able to answer after 6:30 est.
I sent this email, but has not gone through. I will try posting on the
site.
Eagan trades:
Robert Griffith, S
Earl Holmes, ILB
Ricky Proehl, WR
4th round pick (4.2)
to Minnesota for:
2nd round pick (2.7)
3rd round pick (3.7)
5th round pick (5.7)
Since Minnesota is up (pick 2.7), I will wait for their confirmation
prior to making the pick.

Check the TAFL site. They're through the first choice in the second round.

I have seen no picks come through today. Is yahoo screwed up?
I seemed to have never received all mail from 7 est.-12 midnight last night so I really hope no one sent a list for today between those times. I do have lists from Tennessee, Coralville and Iowa City. I had fowarded two things to myself at 7 pm that never made it from my work computer to my home one so I know something was wrong. I am not sure anyone else who did will see this in time, so I really hope no one else did. Thanks and sorry.

Sent this along yesterday, but I don't know if it ever made its way out.

I've got a few teams available in a league I've been running, now in its 3rd year. If any of you are looking to add a league to your Strat-O-Matic baseball gaming, let me know if you're interested.
Our esteemed commissioner, Cliff Dolgins, is a member of this league as well.
Here's the notice I've posted in the Strat Fan Forum:
Help us break the curse!PASBA, a 30-team current year keeper league, has three teams available: the Dodgers, Marlins and Rockies. No salaries, no league dues, no minor league players/prospects.We use only the players in the game, but we use ALL of them.
We have a very solid group of owner/managers, but we've had trouble finding the right owners for these three teams. These aren't horrible teams: the Marlins are currently 24-23, the Dodgers are right at .500 at 24-24, and the Rockies are 20-29 - a bit more of a rebuilding project. All three teams own all their draft picks for next year and have a decent core of players.
We play the actual MLB schedule for each card year, so you'll sometimes be challenged to plan your pitching rotation around not only scheduled off days, but those created by rainouts... and the doubleheaders to make them up!
Players are allowed 110% of their actual PA (defined in our league as walks + AB) and IP.A number of players have unlimited status, which helps our members deal with positional PA or IP shortages.
Computer-only players are only eligible to play when rosters expand in September, which keeps the "cup-of-coffee" monster cards from having a greater impact on the season.
Games are played and results reported weekly (due every Sunday night) and teams are responsible to play their road games vs. computer managers.Netplay is allowed and encouraged, but not required.
Are we stopping for the night? I belive i was
scheduled to go at 7pm, just want to check before i
shut off the computer for the night...
Thanks
Steve

Wow, hard to imagine anyone sitting around for
three days waiting for independance to make
their pick and then they take someone already
taken. Weve had, what about 20 picks in a week??
