The NPRSA Staff is currently preparing the findings of the recent 2008
NPRSA study and public outreach for presentation to the respective city
and county councils in April 2008.
The "Unified Citizen Message" that this website promotes is:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Northshore's population grows and ages, broad access to public
pool(s) are critical for swimmers of all ages and capability.
1) NPRSA needs to provide for the long term continuation of a
centralized Aquatic Center with the modernization or outright full
replacement of the Northshore (aka Ruiz-Costie) Pool.
This can be accomplished by placing the matter before the public as
capital facitities and operating levy, in 2008, for said Aquatics
Center.
2) City of Kenmore needs to seek and encourage the continuation of
existing partnerships (NW Center as manager, City of Kenmore, Evergreen
Hospital, Bastyr University, and Washington State as operating
supporters) to ensure the longterm viability of Carole Ann Wald Pool at
Saint Edward State Park.
In-Person citizen 3 minute comments at Kenmore-Bothell-Woodinville City
Council and King and Snohomish County Council Meetings in March-April-
May are strongly recommended.
Emails or snail mail would be secondary choices of expression.
Council contact information is contained in the LINKS section (NPRSA
Agency)of the following website:
If you feel strongly about year round swimming, including competitive
high school varsity teams, DO NOT FAIL to act.
