Evan Bernier arrived at Washington last fall to join the men's swimming team with all of the hype of a highly recruited freshman. Except Bernier was a junior transfer from Minnesota, not a freshman.

Bernier elected to swim for the Gophers coming out of Inglemoor High School in Kenmore, following his older brother Nathan, who had swum for the team from 2001 to 2005. But after two years, Bernier moved back .............
