Bryan gymnastics team second at Kingwood

KINGWOOD — The Bryan girls gymnastics team finished second at the Kingwood
Invitational compulsory meet on Friday.

Bryan finished with 113.1 points. Kingwood won the meet with 114.55 points.

“This was a big 2nd place finish for us,” Bryan coach Cali Currie said.
“We
have usually placed fourth or fifth at this meet in the last several years We
had clean, solid routines that paid off for us.”

Kaily Chapman and Alyssa Zawieja led the Bryan scoring, with help from
Daniela Hart and Mary Reedy. Zawieja was second in the all-around, taking second
in
the floor exercise, fifth in the vault and 10th in bars. Kaily Chapman was
sixth in the all-around, taking third on the beam.

Bryan will host A&M Consolidated and Alvin on Friday.
