I know this has nothing to do with the Clippers, but this is a sad
passing of a NBA legend. I really hate the Lakers ( I lost over 60
bucks betting againist them), but I really couldn't find myself
hating Chick. He was just so unbiased on his calls and he had so much
insight. Any basketball fan, in my opinion, is affected and saddned
by his death... I send my condolences to his wife, and friends... I
hope you guys do the same.
are the clippers going to the playoffs next season? i think and hope
they are! i love quentin richardson, i hope he is a starter soon.

wait till NBA season starts again cuz i be bored when basketball aint
on sundays tuesday thurdays...anydays! oh and how yall feel bout the
Dmiles trade?
I dunno if you people have been to Clippers Topbuzz
(http://clippers.topbuzz.com/), but in my opinion it is one of the
best Clippers site around. Just recently, I have been able to write a
weekly or bi-weekly editorial on the site. Make sure to visit the
site for up-to-date Clippers information, as it updates daily, and
sometimes even hourly.
Fox Sports has released an off-season power rankings. Guess who's the
8th best team in the NBA? That's right... Your Los Angeles
Clippers!!! Looks like people are starting to respect them. The
rankings puts the Clippers as the 5th best in the West, having a
potential square off with the Mavs (who hold fourth) in the playoffs.
It's just a power ranking, but still... the Clippers have jumped up
to the elite teams, in many eyes.
The Clippers newest superstar, is the star point guard Andre Miller.
Miller averaged a league best, 10.9 assists per game, along with 16.5
points per game. This trade has been praised by experts, but lamented
by many fans. How do you feel? Sound off here!
i dont think it was a bad trade, it was ok, yeah the fans love D and
he was one of the reasons they came, but winning also draws
fans, and Andre should help them get alteast ten more wins...its
just one of those trades that gives you mixed feelings, because
you know they'll be better, but since everyone enjoyed Darius it
doesnt feel great to see him go.

If this trade does indeed fall through, it may go down as one of the
worst trades ever made... for the Clippers. Miles has too much upside
and potential to be traded. He is also what draws many to see the
Clippers. In my opinion, Miles is more valuable than Miller, because
he is the last person you want to see dribbling the ball down the
court on a fast break. He can dunk, dish, or draw the foul on you.
(Or even a combination of the above. Yes, a pass to himself and a
dunk, he did it in a summer game last year.) Miles also is the
Clippers only true shot blocker, if he was given enough playing time,
he would have more BPG than the Kandi man would. He adds a defensive
presence for the Clippers...
So there's my little opinion... Say it ain't so, Sterling! Don't
trade him!
what does everyone think of the trade of D Miles for Andre Miller?
we're gonna mis D, but Miller is really good player and at this point
he can help the team more than Darius can, i just hope it doesnt mess
up the team chemistry
Marko Jaric Scouting Report
Transferred to Greece from his native Yugoslavia, played the 1996-97 and
1997-98 seasons with Peristeri BC (Greece). In the 1998-99 pre-season, with
a controversial move, he signed first a pre-contract with KK Crvena Zvezda
(Yugoslavia) but later went to Fortitudo Pallacanestro Bologna (Italy).
Selected as second round pick (#30) of the 2000 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles
Clippers. In 2000-01 has signed with Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna (Italy).
Has a member of the Yugoslav National Team he played the 1998 Under 22
European Championship winning the gold medal. Won the 2001 European
Championship in Turkey. Played the 1999-00 Italian All Star Game. Won the
1999-00 Italian National Championship with Fortitudo Bologna and the 2000-01
with Virtus Bologna. Won the 2000-01, 2001-02 Italian National Cups and the
2000-01 ULEB's Euroleague.
He is an outstanding athlete, with size and good body structure. Quick,
reactive, Marko has great leaping ability, and possesses good control of his
body. He's versatile, fits better at the shooting guard spot, but can also
play the small forward or the point guard spot, if needed. Deadly in open
court situations where he can handle the ball coast to coast and finish with
amazing dunks. Can be dangerous without the ball, making cuts or using
screens. With the ball he can drive to the basket and finish or dish the
ball outside. Reads the game, has talent, understands the situations, and
he's also a very good passer. Excellent shooter who can hit the three's
coming off picks or off the dribble, he has an effective pull up jumper,
which allows him to finish penetrations in traffic. He can take his man on
the blocks, post-up smaller opponents and grab some offensive boards. Quick
and reactive on "D", he's smart, has anticipation and gets steals. Good on
team help and rotation. Has enough quickness to slide and contain even
smaller opponents. He is a REAL prime time player in Europe, and has some
chances also at Clippers.
Clippers Sign Point Guard Marko Jaric
Jaric will help bolster the Clippers' backcourt in 2002-03
The Los Angeles Clippers have announced the signing of point guard
Marko Jaric to a multi-year contract.
Jaric, the Clippers second round selection (30th overall) in the 2000
NBA Draft, averaged 15.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 33
games played for the Italian team Kinder Bologna during the 2001-02
season. The 6'7" Yugoslavian connected on 171-374 FG (.457), 107-142
FT (.754) and 55-139 3FG (.388) in 33 games played on the year.
"This really strengthens our point guard position," stated Clippers
Vice President of Basketball Operations Elgin Baylor. "We like
Marko's size, competitiveness and unselfish style of play. His
ability to push the ball up the court will fit in very well with our
running game. He also does a very good job in finding the open man."
During the 2000 season, Jaric led Kinder Bologna to the
European "Triple Crown" - the Italian League Championship, Euroleague
Championship and the Italian Cup Championship.
"I'm very excited to be coming to the Clippers and the NBA," said
Jaric. "I have met Elgin Baylor and the coaching staff and I look
forward to working with everyone. I believe that I can help the team
right away, and look forward to getting started."
Prior to his two seasons with Kinder Bologna, Jaric tallied 9.9
points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists while with Fortitudo Bologna
during the 1999-2000 season. He averaged 7.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and
1.0 assists for Fortitudo Bologna during the 1998-99 campaign.
"I'm very happy for Marko and for the Clippers," stated Bill Duffy,
President of BDA Sports Management. "The contract is indicative of
Marko's tremendous talent and experience. I'm pleased that the
Clippers stepped up to the plate. We think everyone in LA will be
thrilled with what Marko brings to the Clippers organization and to
the city."
Jaric is currently training with the Yugoslavian National Team for
the FIBA World Championships at their training facility in
Rottenburg, Germany. The 2002 FIBA World Championships will take
place from August 29-September 8 in Indianapolis. The Clippers will
have two players in the tournament, with forward Elton Brand
competing on the USA Basketball Men's World Championship Team.

My comments: WOOHOO!!! FINALLY!!!!
The Clippers reached a contract with Channel 5 to televise their
season games. The following is from Clippers.com:
Clippers and KTLA Channel 5 Enter Into Exclusive Broadcast Agreement
The Los Angeles Clippers and KTLA, Channel 5 today announced that the
two parties have reached a multi-year exclusive broadcast television
rights agreement.
KTLA will carry 25 Clippers telecasts during the upcoming 2002-03
season. A broadcast schedule will be announced later this summer,
after the NBA schedules are set.
The deal represents the second such alliance between the two parties.
KTLA was the over-the-air television home of the Clippers during the
1985-86 through 1990-91 NBA seasons.
"This partnership is indeed a tremendous opportunity for the
Clippers' organization, but even more importantly, it is a wonderful
development for our fans. Our team has become known as one of the
more exciting and dynamic groups in the NBA. This relationship
stimulates a big uptick in our viewing universe, and everybody
benefits from that," said Clippers' Executive Vice President Andy
Roeser.
According to KTLA Vice President and General Manager John
Reardon, "The Clippers relationship presents increased opportunity
and benefits for both sides and, most importantly, allows fans to see
more televised games."
It is anticipated that there will be no change in the Clippers long-
time broadcast personnel. Ralph Lawler, who has spent 23 years as
the "Voice of the Clippers", will return with Bill Walton and Michael
Smith.
KTLA, Channel 5 is The WB affiliate in Los Angeles and a Tribune
Broadcasting station.
Shooting Star
The 2000 NBA Draft will be remembered as one of the best in Clippers
history, as the club deftly managed to obtain a nucleus of young
talent in Darius Miles, Quentin Richardson, Keyon Dooling and Corey
Maggette. However, some fans forget that the Clippers also picked up
the rights to another budding star, Marko Jaric.
As a 6'6" point guard, Marko Jaric has established himself as one of
the best players in all of Europe. While other 2000 draft picks were
fighting for playing time in the NBA, Jaric was fighting for
championships in Europe. In 2001, Marko led Kinder Bologna to the
European "Triple Crown" for the first time in club history.
The "Triple Crown" consists of a championship in the Italian League,
Euroleague and Italian Cup. Such an accomplishment is a testament to
not only his team, but to Marko himself. He is also the only player
ever to win back-to-back championships in the prestigious Italian
League Championship Tournament with two different clubs (2000-
Fortitudo Bologna, 2001-Kinder Bologna). Even without these
accomplishments, Marko's bio reads much like an honor roll:
A member of the Yugoslav National Team
A member of the 1998 Gold Medal Under 22 European Championship Squad.
Participated in the 1999-00 Italian All Star Game.
Averaged 18 points and 5 assists per game in 2000-01, while shooting
60% from inside the three-point line and 44% from behind the arc.
An outstanding athlete with size and strength, Marko has great
leaping ability and is deadly in the open court. Extremely
comfortable with handling the ball, he excels in the up-tempo game
where he can go coast to coast and finish with authority. His father,
Srecko Jaric, one of the greatest international basketball players
ever, passed much of his experience on to Marko.
Clippers.com will keep you up to date on Marko's accomplishments in
the future.

according to fox sports, the clippers drafted Wilcox for the cavs,
but then the cavs screwed the clips and pulled the deal for miller
from the table...so the clippers didnt really have any interest in
wilcox, and you can tell when you look at Elgin and Gentrys faces as
they get interviewed...i think they're working on something, i doubt
both players will still be clippers by the seasons start, most likely
wilcox....wilcox reminds me of brian skinner, and i have a feeling
his career will be like skinners, but i dont know, i guess we'll
see...

I dunno, I think Wilcox is a steal at the 8th, however I do believe
that the Clippers are trying to get Andre Miller...
Ely, on the other hand... what a waste of a pick... who is this guy?
..what a waste of a pick, hes just a big stiff, and why would you use
two lottery picks to get power forwards when you have Elton
Brand?..they better be working on some trade.
Good question... and it needs a good answer, but there is none. The
Clippers were working out a deal on KTLA channel 5, but once the 9-11
tradegy happened, KTLA backed out due to fear of the economical
situtation, that is why there were no televised Clippers games on
Mainstream TV.
What station do the Clippers air on? I know hte Lakers are on KCAL9
and one of the fox sports, but do the clipper games even air? I dont
think I saw one, but I wasn't really into sports until recently.
TJ
i think they should keep odom and kandi..but i think they'll
probably end up losing mcinnis and kandi, and keeping odom
and pike(isnt his contract up too?)
