Hey, kids, I'm sorry that I'm a day late with
this editorial. I had to take care of some business,
but nothing bad at all. Anyways, last night's ugly
Clipper win versus the Heat in Miami's American Airlines
Arena was led marred by bad shooting by both teams, but
the Clippers came out on top, with great play in the
2nd half. Quentin Richardson led the Clips with 25,
and Elton Brand's replacement at power forward,
Harold Jamison had 14 points and 10 rebounds. It was
Jamison's 2nd start of the season.

Jamison played
for the Heat last season, participating in 12
contests. By what I hear, Harold is one of the hardest
workers in practice, so I guess it showed. By last
night's performance, he definitely earned more playing
time. This victory over the Heat, who themselves are in
the chase of the final playoff spots in the East,
kinda makes up for Monday's truly heartbreaking loss
against Portland at Staples. The TrailBlazers have been
kind of hot too, beating Seattle last night at Key
Arena. Of course, the Clippers are 1.5 games behind
Seattle for the final spot.

The Clips can carry
this momentum up the road to Central Florida and face
an average-at-best Orlando Magic team with Tracy
McGrady. They play tonight at 4:30pm PST, and it's no word
yet whetever Brand plays tonight or not. Corey
Maggette suffered a concussion in last night's game. He
could play tonight against Orlando,
however.

Lamar Odom went back to Los Angeles to rehibiliate his
right ankle and wrist, and is expected to gone two
weeks, according to the Los Angeles Times. As I'm
writing this, the trade deadling is about a
hour-and-a-half (6pm EST/3pm PST), and fortunately or
unfortunately, depending the way you look at it, the Clips more
than likey won't make any trades. I believe they
shouldn't make any trades right now, anyways, especially
with two of the teams best players injured right now
(Odom and Brand).

Feel free to make a comment
about or any other of my editorials, and I see ya next
week! Peace!
I read somewhere, maybe Sporting News?, that this
one columnist would give it to Keon Clark of Toronto.
He doesn't score as much as Q but gets a lot of
blocks and boards off the bench. I still think Q
deserves it more but that is another name I heard.
Clippers will send Q, Miles, and Brand to Philly
for the NBA All-Star Weekend. Brand will replace
O'Neal in the All Star Game, Miles replaces Swift in the
Rookie game, and Q will do double duty in the Rookie
game and the 3 pt contest! Good Luck !!!!!
I remember reading somwhere that he didn't want
to start and that he wanted to come off the bench
because he plays better that way. It might have been just
for one of the games though because they asked Q if
he wanted to start and he didn't and they put Corey
Maggette in his place.
Big Up to my Q that kid is the real deal!I just
watched the game against the Knicks and he was killin'
them from all over the place! If he jumps to the
starting line up I'm pretty sure that we'll have an all
star caliber player right there.Keep up the good work.
Hey everyone...I'm new up in here. I've been an
LA fan for a while now....my dad is from LA so I've
always loved the teams...now I live in Milwaukee so
everyone here loves the Bucks...kinda sucks cuz the Bucks
are one of my least fav teams in the league...just
sayin hi to everyone in here though...and it's good to
see the Clips playin well...lates.

What's up, my fellow Clipper peeps!? Well, the
road trip from hell has finally ended, with the team
going 1-5 away from Staples. And to finally top it all
off, superstar Elton Brand and bench player Obinna
Ekezie got into it in a Minneapolis hotel yesterday
morning, prior to the team's morning shoot-around at
Target Center. Coach Alvin Gentry said that the
situation would be taken care of in-house, and will be
dealt with.

And to add insult to injury, our
Clips got their asses spanked by the Timberwolves, one
of the two best teams in the NBA, 97-83. The game
was even that close, except the Clips outscored the
Wolves in every quarter but the 2nd, where they
outscored 35-14 by Minnesota. The Clips also outscored the
Wolves in the paint (lay-ups and dunk for those that
don't know), 48-36.

I'm not going to make this
road situation an issue again and again, because it
gets real tired. Some people say it maybe
psychological, which could somewhat be true. This team is
virtually unbeatable at home, but they lack the same
confidence to win on the road. The Clips can redeemed
themselves as they have 4 out of their next 5 games at
Staples Center.

We hope that they get things
together, and try to salvage what's left of the season,
because it doesn't get easier. I gotta get out of here,
talk to you next week. Peace!
Our L.A. Clippers will be facing the Minnesota
T-Wolves in a tough Western conference showdown, the game
will be shown in your D.T.V. League pass if you dont
have it get it, but you do need digital cable. Michael
Olow-Scary has been on a Rampage lately, so he should be
able to dominate today.
First off, I agree with most of what Madman said.
I concede that when Odom IS at his best he is a
franchise guy. But with the infrequency that has happened
over his first three years in the league, I'm not sure
if that's gonna be $13,000,000 material when his
time comes. He hasn't reached his All-Star potential
yet, and who is to say he ever will? You must admit,
for a player of his caliber, Odom is very
lackadasical!

To me personally, the maximum contracts should be
reserved for the proven winners and All-Stars, not the
"potential" greats because how many guys are there like that
in the league? I'd say 20 or 30 at least - there are
already several others like that on the Clips. Obviously,
guys like T-Mac and KG who signed mega contracts
before they became All-Stars are the exceptions. Then
you've got guys who signed for the max like Ilgauskas,
Stoudamire, Howard, Tim Thomas etc. who are now only
serviceable players - if that.

And with the luxury tax
affecting all but a few super-rich teams, I don't believe
many teams will offer Odom the max unless he has an
unbelievable year next year. The only teams I think might have
a chance are the Bulls, Mavs, and
Blazers.

He'd probably love to go to the Knicks, but they'd
have to trade either Spree or Houston to LA, or get
another team involved. And I don't think the Clips are
going to take on one of those big salaries, nor are
they gonna trade him for Travis Knight and Howard
Eisley - then waive both those guys - and a bag with
"$$" on it.

So if Odom doesn't deserve $13 mil,
then who does? I'll tell you - ELTON BRAND!! The guy
is already an All-Star, he just got punished his
first 2 years for being on such a bad team. And the way
he has seamlessly slipped in and become their best
player night in and night out, that's the kind of
consistent performance that demands the big money!

I
do agree though that if NONE of our current young
stars are signed to extensions it will be the last
straw for us suffering fans. But I will not blame
Sterling if he re-signs Brand and lowballs - or is forced
to trade - everyone else because let's face it, the
NBA's economic climate is RIDICULOUS.

Everyone
complains about baseball salaries and the Yankees payroll,
but if all these young guys around the NBA sign for
the max - or even close to it - it's gonna be very
ugly!! Let's look at the numbers:

Nearly all NBA
teams' payrolls are in the $40-50 million range, going
as high as Portland's $84 million - and that's only
for 15 players! That figure would even be excessive
in baseball (and that's 40 players per team)! And
there is not an epidemic of small-market disparity in
the NBA - even losers like Memphis and Denver are
paying the big money!

If all these teams were
baseball teams, with more than twice as many mouths to
feed, we'd be talking $80-100 million payrolls
league-wide - only a few baseball teams are that rich. I know
that is a highly hypothetical scenario but if all
these young players sign $10-13 mil contracts the NBA
will become a PR disaster and another strike will
probably end the current trend.

With any luck, that
will happen before all the young Clips are ready to
re-sign. That way, maybe we'd have a realistic shot at
keeping this exciting team together. Otherwise, I say
face reality and enjoy this while it lasts. I know I
am!
hey i'm a big clippers fan but new to this
club,do you guys ever go to games together or come
together and watch games?if so i'd be interested.also, does
anyone have any tickets to the next Clips v Lakers game?
What's up, people. There have been some trying
times in Clipperland recently, with the team being 0-2
on a current 6-game Eastern road trip. The Clippers
have four more on the four, and they could be
winniable. They play at New Jersey on Thursday, two
stuggling teams--the Charlotte (soon-to-be New Orleans)
Hornets on Friday and the Toronto Raptors on Sunday
afternoon, and will end in Minneapolis versus the Wolves on
Tuesday. Good luck!

Also, there have been reports
that idiot owner Donald Sterling is considering
breaking-up this great young team, that's only getting
better. The names mentioned have been Lamar Odom, who had
contract extended last season and will be a free agent at
the end of next season, Jeff McInnis, and Michael
Olowokandi whom are eligible to leave at the end of this
season.

Some say that McInnis wants to leave, basically
because he thinks he's being low-balled on his contract.
He's making only nearly $600,000, which is the 2nd
lowest salary on the team, ahead of Obinna Ekezie.
Olowokandi is the highest paid player on the team, making
$4.7 million.

Personally, if the Clips get
something better for Olowokandi and McInnis by trading
them, I'll all for it. McInnis is a steady player, but
he doesn't consistently make the players around him
better, in other words, he's a "me-first" player.
Olowokandi, although he's gotten better defensively, has been
a total bust as a 1st overall pick in the NBA
Draft. But, trading Lamar Odom, despite his troubles, to
me is not an option. When Odom's on his game, he
makes this whole team a hell of lot more
better.

By getting rid of Odom, it tells us long-suffering
Clipper fans, as well as Elton Brand, Darius Miles and
the rest of the team, that the Donald is still not
committed to winning. Trust me, if this happens, the fan
support will vanish almost completely, and it will ruin
the franchise even more. Hell, if that happens you
might as well move the team out of Los Angeles, because
no one will come to the games.

I hope and
pray to God that the Donald, even in his own infinite
wisdom, would be dumb and stupid enough to break the
nucleus and heart of this franchise. That's what I had to
say, so see you soon, peace!
the CLIPPERS slaughter the blazers with jeff

Hey guys, I'm a Clips fan living in Orlando...and
I've been trying to find either Elton Brand or Darius
Miles jerseys. I've been everywhere on the 'net, from
Sports Fan Outlet to NBA.com...and no luck. Do you guys
have any suggestions? I'd be willing to pay a small
fee to someone if they could get their hands on one
for me, or could let me know where to go for
one.

I'm mostly looking for a Swingman Miles jersey, but
any replica ones would be fine of Miles Brand or
Q...let me know if you can help by emailing me,
metalrules83@...! Thanks!
According to the North County Times and the San
Diego Union-Tribune, Adelphia Cable, which serves
Northern San Diego, will add Fox Sports Net West2 (or just
Fox Sports Net 2) starting today. That's great for
our fellow Clippers fans in Northern San Diego
County. However, there's no word from SD's other major
cable providers, Cox Communications and Time Warner
Cable. But, Cox said that they will more than likely add
FSN-W2 when they can add some space to their lineup.

No word from Time Warner on adding FSN-W2 on their
system. With the Padres already in San Diego, and because
of those territorial restrictions, no Dodgers games
will be seen on FSN-W2 in San Diego.
for all the clippers!its www.clippertalk.cjb.net

also, i'm working on a Q
site too! i'll be back to let u guys know how's it going!
come by and say hi!
As reported from L.A.Clippers Corner The Los
Angeles Lakers have been spending there two off days in
Sin City Las Vegas, this tells me that they are not
taking the Clippers serious so hopefully we'll get our
win what do you think?
Happy Wednesday, Clipper fans! It's another week,
and we're only 19 days away from the start of another
year. Damn, this year is going by fast! Anyways, let's
talk hoops. My least favorite, and self-proclaimed
"best" player in the NBA, Tracy McGrady and his Orlando
Tragic, er, Magic came to the House That Odom Built and
had their asses handed to them, final
score--100-92.

T-Wack, as I affectionately call him, scored 47 on the
Clips, but Lamar, Q, and Company got the last word, as
the Clips went on a 20-4 run in the first 7 or 8
minutes to help put the game away. Orlando has lost 3
straight games, with losses at Atlanta (12/8), at Staples
(Monday), and at Sacramento (last night) with final score,
112-100. I personally don't think that the Magic are that
good of a team right now, even though they a near .500
team (11-12 as of 12/12/2001). If the playoffs started
today, the Magic would be the 8th seed, and would be
facing the suprise of the season, the East-leading
Detroit Pistons.

And speaking of the Pistons, they
come to Staples on Sunday afternoon (12:30pm, no local
TV unless you have NBA League Pass). The new look
Pistons, lead by Jerry Stackhouse and Cliff Robinson, have
went back to the old Red, White, and Blue, with slight
alterations compared to the old unis. Those teal and black
uniforms looked kind of hideous. I'm glad that both
Detroit and Seattle, who we host tonight at Staples, went
back to the old school look.

In other news and
notes, swingman Eric Piatkowski maybe be back for
tonight's game against the Supersonics. That's the good
news, now the bad news. Keyon Dooling, who was supposed
to be out of the lineup until the end of the month,
will possibly be out longer. According to the Los
Angeles Daily News, he is going to be out until either
late-January to early-February.

Meanwhile, on Monday,
the NBA named Elton Brand as the Western Conference
Player of the Week, for the week of Dec. 3-9, while
averaging 23.3 PPG, 15.3 RPG and 2.3 APG in all three games
last week. Number 42 joins Clipper greats Loy Vaught,
Ron Harper, Danny Manning, Derek Smith, and Swen
Nater as the only players in franchise history to win
the Player of the Week honors. Vaught was the last
Clipper to win it, back in February 1997, the Clips' last
playoff season. Harper won it twice, and Smith won it
three times. That would hopefully be a first of the
those many honors.

As I mentioned, the Clips
will play Seattle tonight, "at" the Lakers on Friday,
and Detroit on Sunday, before the Clips hit the road
for a game at Phoenix (12/18 on TBS), then home games
against Sacramento (12/22), and struggling Philadelphia
(12/26), then at Seattle (12/27) and a home game with
Boston (12/29) to close out the December
schedule.

I gotta go, so I'll see ya soon,
Peace!

P.S.: Don't forget--for those of you who live in
Southern California or can pick Fox Sports Net West on
satellite, tune in tonight and every Wednesday at 6:30pm on
Southern California Sports Tonight, with former NBA player
Jack Haley and anchor Todd Donoho, as they talk about
the Clippers week in review.
with their win against orlando, the clippers have
moved above .500 for the first time in 5 years!!!!!
Hopefully, the clippers can keep this up. .500 might be all
you need to make the playoffs this year
