Olowakandi BETTER improve this season like at
least to 10pts and 10rpg a game. cuz if kandi can get
decent like that, and Brand will destroy and plus be a
better stopping force against west coast PF's. Cuz
Miles/improved Kandi/Brand in the front line can outrebound
almost any other front line in the league, save for
maybe San Antonio, and even they are not as good
anymore.
Hey have y'all seen the Nate Dogg video with
Fabolous called You Can't Deny It?<br><br>Nate Dogg wears
an Odom jersey in it! Dang the Clips are getting
more and more support each day...I mean Nate Dogg is
waaay up there when it comes to gangsta R&B....anyway
cant wait for season to start....if yall wonderin i
aint a clip hata even tho my screenname is
laker135....i watch clipper games a lot during season and
yea....oh hey wattup eric....how it goin G? go see the
video wit Nate on BET or MTV they show quite a bit
Alright heres what i think the clippers lineup
should be, at Point Guard Jeff McInnis, At shooting
guard Lamar Odom, at small foward Darius Miles, At
Power Foward Elton Brand, And of coarse at center
Michael Olowakandi. Olowakandi is one of the greatest
role players in the nba right now. Although brand is
only 6'8, he can rebound better than D money (6'9).

Thanks CV for repsonding. Still, as far as I
know, the TV schedules haven't come out yet. I think
soon as the Clips can find a regular broadcast
partner, whetever it would be KTLA or Fox 11 Los Angeles,
the TV games would be scheduled. It would be cool if
it were Channel 5, because it is broadcasted via
satellite across the country, which is a plus for all
Clipper fans. Remember, when the Clips first came to Los
Angeles, Channel 5 was THE TV home of the Clippers for 7
years. Another scenario could be Fox. Fox owns Channel
11, and now Channel 13, which was the Clipper station
from 1991-96, as well as the Fox Sports channels, West
and West2. Since FSN owns the Clippers cable rights,
they can end up producing Clipper telecasts for either
11 or 13, depending on who gets what. <br><br>I know
FSN in the Rocky Mountain area produces Nuggets
telecasts for the UPN station, KTVD, as well as their own
cable telecasts. I know that FSN-West2 will have the
majority of the games, while the broadcast partner
(whether it's KTLA or the Fox-owned stations) will have at
least 25-30 games on the schedule, with a few games
left untelevised. <br><br>The Clips aren't the only
team this offseason to switch TV partners. The Dallas
Mavericks moved their games from KSTR Channel 49 (which
goes spanish this fall) to Viacom-owned stations KTVT
(CBS 11) and KTXA (UPN 21), while the cable games stay
on Fox Sports Net-Southwest.
GO KTLA 5!! If the Clips sign on with channel 5
it would be sweet for SD fans like me who get KTLA
on our cable. Hell, I wish KTLA could kick that
stupid Fox Sports West 2 that isn't available here to
the curb so I could see all the Clips games this
year! The only problem is all their lame WB shows would
limit the # of broadcasts.<br><br>Let's show KTLA how
much we want the Clips on there, send them some
e-mails and show your support!<br><br>Thanx for the info
Madman...do you know if the cable TV schedule is set yet?
Here's a story in the sports media column of this
morning's Los Angeles Times (Friday 8/24/01).Channel 9
Clipped<br><br>The Clippers and Channel 9, at the end of a five-year
contract, are parting company. Negotiations were cut off
Thursday when terms on a new contract could not be
reached.<br><br>The two entities had a revenue sharing deal, but the
Clippers now want a straight rights fee, which the Lakers
have. The Lakers will begin their 25th season on
Channel 9 this year.<br><br>The Clippers have made the
playoffs once in the past five years.<br><br>Andy Roser,
Clipper executive vice president, said, "First, from our
standpoint, it was not a contentious parting. This was just
simply a matter of two parties respectfully disagreeing
on one party's worth. In no way does it mean our TV
profile will be dramatically different."<br><br>Channel 5
or Channel 11 could possibly become the Clippers'
new over-the-air station.
Yes I do. Although Salary "cap" may not be the
right word. "Minimum wage" is the term that comes to
mind.<br><br>The Clips salary total is so low, it's in danger of
falling below the league minumum. I think Jeff McGinnis
plays for food (actually, the league
minimum)<br><br>That will change of course when all their young
players get resigned.
I'll be selling individual tickets for the 2001-02 season, two seats, Sec 301
Row 4 (center court), Most games available, Most games $25 each, Starting early
October. Email: SKOOBY3603@...
What's up ClipperFan35 It's me Cheo just saying congrat's on your members I also
got a few more then I had before but who's counting keep up the good work from
your friends at L.A. Clippers Corner.
The Clippers lose Parks to the Spurs. I give
kudos to the front office for letting him go. Parks
would just be a logjam for the Clippers in the Power
Forward position. They have Elton Brand as their starting
PF, possibly Miles backing him up or if Miles moves
to the SF, then the great rebounding machine, Zendon
Hamilton will back Brand up. See Parks was expendable.
Good job, keep that money to resign Zendon!
fans out there. I started liking them as soon as Lamar Odom was drafted. They
are such a great "team." They work so well together. Well, catch you later.
As of right now, the local television schedules for Clippers games on KCAL 9 and
Fox Sports Net-West 2 have not been made available yet. Check back in another
month or so.
As you know many NBA experts are prediecting that
the Clippers current PG, Jeff McInnis will bail out
and sign with another team. This will leave Dooling
as a starting PG. So guess where most NBA experts
tell the Clippers to look for? Europe! Yep that's
right experts are saying the Clippers need to sign
Marko Jaric, because his contract with his European
team ends next year. I think this will be great
because of what i hav heard about Jaric.
Does anyone know of a schedule that lists the
Clippers' local TV games on KCAL or FSW2? The team's site
did not specify these games and I'd like to know so I
can decide whether it's worth it to get NBA League
Pass again this year.<br><br>For you most of you Clips
fans outside LA, I recommend paying the $150 to get
about 70 Clips games a year. But if you live in San
Diego (like me), how many games you'll get depends on
how many are shown on KCAL as opposed to Fox Sports
West 2.<br><br>Fox Sports West 2 is not available on
San Diego cable, but the NBA still blacks out games
shown on FSW2 in SD because they consider it local to
LA. Last year FSW2 televised about 40 Clips games,
leaving about 20-30 in the free and clear for SD viewers.
Still a fair amount of games but since I didn't know
about this before hand, it kinda sucked!<br><br>Anyway,
I hope I can help some SD fans w/this info. I am
stoked about the nat'l TV games, and I hope that KCAL or
FSW1 carries more Clips games this year!
The Clippers will have 2 games on TBS this season, and 1 game on TNT againist
the Lakers. They will also be on CTV againist the Raptors. Looks like the TV
stations have found out about the Clips!
That is a nice idea clipperfan, but I doubt the
Admiral (or his agent) would have ever entertained the
idea of playing for the Clips. So many other teams
w/better records would have offered him more $$$ first.
And that's the way I like it, frankly. For the Clips
to abandon their current direction to sign Robinson
- or any other high priced free agent - would be a
mistake right now.<br><br>They need to wait until it's
time to hopefully re-sign Odom and Brand for 7 years
$120 million apiece (or whatever the max is in 2003),
then see if maybe there's room under the cap for a
high profile veteran presence like Robinson. Because
at that time, they're also gonna have to make
decisions on Maggette and the next year, it'll be Darius
and Q etc. And do you think The Donald will pay the
luxury tax if the Clips go over the cap?<br><br>Bottom
line, let's wait for Mr. Sterling to spend ANY big
money before we speculate whether he'll spend the RIGHT
big money!
The Clippers should have tried to get D. Rabinson
this year. Why? That way Kandi could sit on the bench
and find out how to play better. Not to mention David
could of improved Kandi's game by playing him 1 on 1
during a practice. Not only that... teams will double
Robinson creating room not only for Brand, Miles, but also
Odom. Imagine that lineup:<br><br>C- Robinson<br>PF-
Brand<br>SF- Miles<br>SG- Odom<br>PG- McInns<br><br>Now that
would make the zone work because they would need to
double team everyone. Man, if only the Clippers would
shell out some money this year.
ODOM AND MILES TO PLAY IN CHARITY B-BALL
GAME<br><br>The 16th Annual "A Midsummer Night's Magic"

PM at STAPLES Center. As a Clippers One-on-One

Derek <br>Anderson (among others).
Hey it looks like nba.com has a poll going for
best play of the year. Odom is in 2nd with 31% behind
Kobe (45%). Let's all go and vote so we can beat Kobe!
STAND UP AND BE COUNTED!!<br><br><a href=http://www.nba.com/
target=new>http://www.nba.com/</a>
velocity and height - it wasnt THAT high. Go
check out Shaq's big crazy weed dunk in Game 7 portland
last year. His hand was almost above the box. But that
pass by Odom was the best pass in the countdown. That
was perfect and he wasnt even looking.
Clips won't get into the finals in two years.
THink about the Lakers. In 96, they got shaq and kobe,
and they already had van exel and jones. 4 All-stars.
97-swept 98-swept 98-swept. 2000-jones and van exel r gone
and team is more focused and role players are better.
Lakers make it to the finals in a 7 minute last minute
spurt in Game 7. 2001-lakers role players do real well
and lakers 15-1 playoffs<br><br>The point being, you
can have miles, odom, brand, kandi, but they can't
win a championship in 2 years. They need 5 years from
now to win it. That means they must: 1) Retain all
key players 2) To have #1, Donald Sterling must not
be a greedy bastard 3) Also to have 1, Clippers must
make playoffs next season and improve every season. If
these can happen, then Clips can win a championship in
5 years.
It should of been number one... none of the other plays cam close to the
violocity and height and talent put on that ball. palph sounded like he needed
some cough drops... CRAZY! OH ME OH MY! AI YA!
You all probably saw it (if you're with
clippers.com) already, but NBA.com voted that Odom-Miles
alley-oop as #4 play of the past year. Check the clip out
if you havent already. Ralph Lawler sounded like he
needed a cigarette after that one!
