Hello, fellow Clipper fans. Well, they did it
again! The Clippers blow another fourth-quarter lead,
last night at Arco Arena, against the Kings, and lose
in overtime. 106-93. Sacramento outscored Los
Angeles 17-4 in the extra period. Jeff McInnis had his
best game as a Clipper, scoring 33 points, but missed
a cruical free throw that could have iced the game
for Los Angeles. Lamar Odom really didn't a good game
himself, especially from the line, where went 1-6 from the
line, but did score 16 points.<br><br>The Clippers have
themselves to blame for their losses, for not executing in
crunch time, and crumbling under pressure. Lack of
veteran leadership and lack of maturity are a couple
reasons why the Clippers are where they are. We can go
back to the Portland win, on February 24th, when the
TrailBlazers used a trapping full-court defense in the fourth
quarter, which resulted in many Clipper turnovers, 2 or 3
by Lamar Odom, alone. <br><br>Basically, what I and
many other knowledgeable basketball fans know about is
that, they have a lack of trust among each other,
especially when it matters. We can dwell and analyse all we
want, but we already what the problem is. The Clips
don't have that guy that is a "in your face" vocal
leader, that will calm the young guys down, and show the
guys how react under pressure in crunch-time
situtations.<br><br>I think that Michael Olowokandi was right, when he
said that the team plays totally different from when
they are on the road, than at home. Sort of a "Jeckyll
and Hyde" effect. If Elgin Baylor is smart, of if the
Donald can open up his wallet, instead of getting these
young players, they need more veteran players. They
need someone that can completment Odom, and help him
and the rest of good young players mature more as
basketball players. Until next week, peace.
Where Can I get a White Clippers Jersey i have
searched for it online and all around L.A. and still i
can't find it, I dont care if it is Replica or

What's up everybody? Did you hear what Michael
Olowokandi said about the way this team plays? He said that
the Clippers play much differently at home, than on
the road. Kandi-ass says that the Clips play more
like a team at home, but on the road, it's like
everybody for themselves. Check out the rest of the that
story, on this site, under "Clipper team report
(2/17/2001)." <br>*************************<br>The Clippers
have played six consecutive road games, with two more
coming up, at Gund Arena in Cleveland, versus the Cavs,
and in Chicago's United Center, vs. the Bulls. These
two should be winniable games, but not easy. The
Cavaliers have struggled in the last several weeks, and
probably might fall out of playoff contention. Meanwhile,
the Bulls, despite their horrible record (8-44) have
played just as competive as their opposition every
night. The Clips will be home this Saturday night,
versus Portland, which the Clips beat at Staples exactly
two weeks eariler.<br>**********************<br>Back
to Kandi-ass: This guy usually doesn't say too much,
but he's right about his teammates. It's absolutely
ridicuous about the way this team loses games, and this is
a subject that we keep harping on since the early
part of the season. The lack of veteran leadership and
inexperience has cost the Clips at least 10-15 wins, which if
they got 10-15 wins, they would definitely be a
playoff contender. You can't blame Elgin or Sterling
totally for this, but you can't ever tell.
No i do not think darius can play small. Lamar
has advantages that Miles does not have on that
position. <br><br>i would like to see McInnis playing point
(he had 12 assists againist the Pistons and no
turnovers) <br><br>Jerome Williams would be a nice fit if he
came to the Clippers. Miles would have to sit on the
bench to learn, which is fine but i really want to see
him play. <br><br>Shooting guard would not be pike. I
would get Richerson. y? Because once the Clippers run
the ball and get a good lead, the vertern Pike could
slow it down make some 3s and seal the
game.<br><br>Center? Who knows?!
Next season's staring line up:<br><br>Lamar at
point.<br><br>Pike at 2.<br><br>Darius at small.<br><br>Jerome
Williams(free agent this season) from pistons at
power.<br><br>Brendan Haywood from North Carolina at center.
What's up?, and Happy Valentine's day to
everybody. The Clippers are on the midst of a eight-game
road trip. Eight straight games! Oh me, oh my! Those
destinations include Oakland (lost to G-State, 89-88 on Feb.
7th), Miami (lost there last night, 101-99 in OT),
Orlando, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Detroit, Cleveland, and
Chicago.<br><br>I say other than the Golden State and Miami games,
three of the next six games are pretty winniable, as
long as the Clips continue to play the style of
basketball that has won them games. The most attractive
match-up will be tonight versus the Orlando Magic, at The
Building Formerly Known As the O-rena. I think the
building is called the TD Waterhouse Center. TD
Waterhouse, I believe, is an investment firm. Anyways, it
would be cool if the Clips go 3-5 on this road trip.
The Clippers only have four home games in all of
February, and are 2-0 at Staples, so far this
month.<br><br>Those two other home games includes games vs. Portland
(Feb. 24th) and Dallas (Feb. 26th). Let's hope that
they finish February on a up-note, as they go into the
final month-and-a-half of the season. So, I'm not going
to even stress over what this team needs to do,
because if don't know by now, they will never get it. So,
while you spend time with your signifigant other today
and/or tonight, root on the Clippers, as they smash the
Orlando Tragic, er, Magic.
I think the best way to evaluate Candy's play now
is to ask, "If this was his rookie year right now,
what would you think about him?" That's based on the
fact that he hasn't played any organized ball for most
of his life.<br><br>If you think about it that way,
he's starting to look a lot more comfortable on the
floor now, and plays very well at times. As would a top
rookie center halfway into his rookie season.<br><br>If
we don't keep him for the long run, we better get
something back and not just let him go free agent. He's got
too much potential to just lose for nothing-
I guess the only question about him right now is
weight- he's a little skinny.<br><br>But him or Eddie
Curry would be sweet. Apparently Eddie Curry (another
7' high-schooler) is tight with Quentin and
Darius...<br><br>These guys will develop quicker than Candy. The big
question is, would you pick one of these high schoolers,
versus someone like Shane Battier, who has more
experience and will probably be able to contribute
immediately-
I just found out that Tyson Chandler was watching
the Clippers aginist the Bulls. Perhaps the high
schooler wants to join the two youngest teams in the NBA.
He would be great for the Clips. He is a 7' player
who can run like a guard. He would develop faster
than kandi because he played Basketball most his life.
What do you think?
Great 1st dunk, but then... WHAT THE HELL was he THINKING! He was TOO
conservative! I AM PISSED! He should have did the jersey thing and made it to
the finals!
Hi, check out the original Buffalo Braves web
site. As you probably know, the Clippers franchise
started in Buffalo, NY in 1970 as the
Braves.<br><br>Here's the web site address:

franchise, please let

The 4 Clippers selected to go to the NBA All Star
Weekend and gonna show the world their stuff this
saturday! Corey will throw the rock down so hard with 2 of
his 'secert' dunks! Odom will face off againist
teammates Miles and Q. GO CLIPPERS!
The Los Angeles Clippers, as we speak, are in the
midst of a three-game winning streak, and they play the
Golden State Warriors, tonight at Oakland Arena. The
Clips have winning because they play unselfish team
ball, and also because Michael Olowokandi has finally
shown signs of being a good NBA talent. <br><br>The
third-year center out of the University of the Pacific in
Stockton has not become the great NBA star they thought he
would be. He was the first overall pick in the 1997
Draft, which a lot of people (including myself) said the
Clippers picked him too high. It would have been better
served if they picked with a mid-first round spot. But,
Elgin Baylor must have known what he was doing when he
picked the Kandi-man. <br><br>He had a breakout game
this past Monday night, when the Clips beat the
once-great and now God-awful Chicago Bulls, where he had 21
points, 6 boards, and 2 blocks. I would said he had a
great game, and he did, but I want to see him put up
those numbers (and maybe at least 4 more rebounds)
against better competition. This would be Olowokandi's
free agent year, but the Clips extended his contract
for one more year, having him be a free agent after
next season. I think Mike would be very good, if he
averages a double-double all season (like between 16-18
points, 10-12 rebounds, and at least 3 blocks).
<br><br>Anything can happen, but it's up to him to make himself
the best he can be. His nonchalant demeanor on the
court doesn't do him or his team any good, especially
if they're losing games. I certainly wish a good guy
like Kandi with good luck for the rest of his NBA
career. By the way, check Lonnie White's article on
Olowokandi in today's (2/7/01) edition of the Los Angeles
Times or log on to
<a href=http://www.latimes.com/sports/nba/clippers
target=new>http://www.latimes.com/sports/nba/clippers</a><br><br>***************\
******<br>This past Saturday (2/3/01), the Clippers hosted the
Portland TrailBlazers at Staples Center, and the newest
Clips, rookies Darius Miles, Keyon Dooling, Quentin
Richardson, and second-year swingman Corey Maggette only
played nine minutes, combined. Coach Alvin Gentry said
he did it because he wanted to play his veterans
more against Portland's tough veterans, and it
resulted in a 90-89 win, with Sean Rooks hitting two free
throws with seconds left in the game. It was reported
that after Sunday's practice at Los Angeles Southwest
College, in South Los Angeles, that Richardson and Miles
expressed disappoinment about their playing time in the
Portland game. Both Miles and Richardson left the
practice, not speaking to anybody, while Dooling and Corey
stayed after to work on their game. Well, we see where
everybody's priorities are. Until next week, see ya, and
enjoy the All-Star, and root on Corey in the Slam Dunk
contest. Peace.
Did you guys see what they did to the website it looks awesome. Last night they
look strong specially the Kandiman; they should take G.S. by double digits.
They should retire Manning's when he retires. Seriously, he was good when he was
a Clip, and stayed with the club for a little while and put up good numbers.
Dang, they way the laker's been playin as of
late, i've been watching more of the clips than the
lakes recently. hm...maybe that propoganda you shoved
into me in 7th grade is coming into effect...hehe
What's up with the Los Angeles Clippers? These
Clippers, who are playing much harder and with more
enthusiasm than the past Clipper teams, are now in their
usual mid-season form. Obivously, I stated time and
time again, that we need more help out there on the
floor. <br><br>Even though Alvin Gentry has been a good
coach for these young guys, I'm starting to question
his rotation format. Basically, what I'm saying is
that guys that should deserve to play, should play. I
certainly commend Coach Gentry for basically kicking Keith
Closs off the team, because he was under-conditioned.
It wasn't like Closs did anything for the Clippers
anyway, except stealing money. <br><br>I understand
Coach's premise that he doesn't want any negative vibes
around his team, which is why the likes of Closs and
Nesby are gone. He's a coach telling it like it is. The
Clippers are a very talented basketball team, but they are
also a under-sized, and sometimes over-matched team.
You have players that will play hard and try, like
Odom, Miles, Piatkowski, Parks, etc. Then, you have
Michael Olowokandi. <br><br>I think we have stressed this
point over and over again on how lethargic he is. He
seems to be a easy-going nice guy, but he lacks that
fire and passion that has driven the great players at
the center postition. Even though he has developed
his game a little bit, how much patience do us
Clippers fans have with the Kandi-ass? If the Donald can
open that checkbook, wallet, or whatever the hell he
keep his money, and spends his money and get an
established free agent star, or make a trade for someone that
will be signifigant, then the Clippers will be fine.
And, we all know the blame of the way this franchise
has been is all on Donald Sterling. <br><br>So, as
the Clips go on this road trip, let's have faith in
them, and most importantly, faith in themselves.
I read the headlines in this morning's Los
Angeles Times sports section, and I said, "Damn,
unbeliveable. Odom not playing tonight?"<br><br>The headlines
read: "Gentry Vows to Set an Example" and "Odom
Disappoints Clippers"<br><br>I was on the bus, going to work
this morning, and I seen some guy reading the L.A.
Times Sports page across from me, and I seen the
headline. So, when I got to work, and to my computer, I
went to latimes.com's Clipper section, and there it
was. I read the story stating that Lamar Odom may not
start in tonight's game versus the Seattle SuperSonics
at Staples Center. <br><br>It seems that Odom missed
practice yesterday because he and Keyon Dooling went to
Las Vegas for a trade show, after being asked by NBA
officals. Keyon made it back in time for the Tuesday
practice. Odom said he called team trainer Jasen Powell,
and said he was gonna be late. Coach Alvin Gentry,
who is to give Odom a fine of up to $2,500, has
expressed his disappointment of Lamar.<br><br>Gentry said,
"If (Odom) is going to be the leader on this team,
then he has to accept certain responsibilities. If
not, we are going to look elsewhere for
leadership."<br><br>This is probably the first time in recent memory that
a Clipper coach has exerted his authority quite
swifty. He fined Odom before, for missing the team plane
after the team played in Odom's hometown of New York
City. I say all power to Coach Gentry! It shows that
the Coach means business, and we all think that Lamar
is smart enough to learn his lesson, and forgive and
forget. That's what great team leaders
do.<br><br>*************************<br>In other stories, I was listening to a
sports talk
show the other night, and the host said that another
reason why Tyrone Nesby was sent packing was because he
would be a negative influence on the younger players.
That was in reference to Nesby getting into a
profanity-laced arguement with Washington Wizards head coach
Leonard Hamilton, about a bunch of stuff. It was pretty
much safe to say that Mr. Nesby wore out his welcome
in Los Angeles.<br><br>And finally, Ralph Lawler.
I've been asking here in the Clip Joint, and other
Clipper clubs on Yahoo! is the Bingo Man a Hall of Fame
broadcaster? By the responses I've gotten so far, the people
have said yes. It's true that Lawler tries and does
make the games interesting to watch. People are so in
love with the Old and Past His Prime Chick Hearn in
this town, people don't recgonize another living
legend (in my opinion) in Ralph Lawler. It's kinda of
sad, but once the Clippers get better, then the Bingo
Man will be more visible.
The General came out saying 4 years ago that he
never wanted to leave the Clippers and that he would
like to be the first Clipper to retire with them. You
guys do know we cant retire him though cause he's
still active with the Blazers. Vaught I dont think will
be as offensive as he used to due to his age and
after that back surgery but I know he's all heart and
his defense would still be there.
To Clipperfan: I'll be glad to contribute my
weekly editorials. I write a new one every Wednesday,
and to check the old ones, go to my Clip Joint page,
and check under "Messages". Also, I would appeciate
some feedback on my editorials. Thanks, and peace to
ya.
