Alta Ditches The Hole Punchers

Alta, Utah's chucking the hole puncher and going to a hands-free ticketing system.

Load your lift pass or ticket onto the Alta Card,which will have an RFID (radio frequency identification) chip embedded in it. Swipe past the entry gates (no turnstiles) to the lifts. No more digging into your jacket to show your pass at every lift.

Just put the card in your pocket and leave it there. In addition, visit www.alta.com at the end of the day and enter the web ID on the card to track your ski history like your vertical. You can also reload the card for another ski day and skip a stop at the ticket office.
