Derby Fans, celebrate Father's Day on Sunday, June 15th with Roller Derby at Cass Park!
The Ithaca SufferJets, fresh off a victory from their May bout, are ready to keep their winning streak alive. This Sunday, Father's Day, they'll meet that challenge as they take on Utica's Asylum City Lunatics in their first annual, "Who's Your Daddy?" bout.
Between periods, Ithaca's own Urban Horse Thieves (www.urbanhorsethieves.com) will play "outlaw americana" live for all of the roller derby faithful. A Father's Day extravaganza, the evening will be full of roller derby, raffles, music, and between-period entertainment, with colorful commentary by guest announcers and WVBR.
Last month hundreds of supporters witnessed the Ithaca SufferJets battle itout for a thrilling last minute 84-81 victory. Find out more at IthacaRollerDerby.com.
Post-bout after party will be at Korova (214 E. State) with music continuing by the Urban Horse Thieves.
This month's bout spotlight cause is the Ithaca Skate Park. The Ithaca Skate Park provides important recreational space for area skaters and is in need of renovations. A portion of the donations will be given to the Temuchin Park Fund (www.temparkfund.com).
