Only until I get confirmation that jimmy will DVR the game for me and his roommate will not ruin the score will I commit to this practice.

Just a heads up to club team members, everyone is expected rain or shine for practice on Saturday at 11am.  Just come prepared.  If there is lighting I'll call it off... at the fields, otherwise I'll see you there.

Clint

P.S. Nate I don't care about your stupid hockey game, tape it or have Jimmy record it for you.  (they can't even fly)

    Hi everyone!

Whether you’re new to ultimate Frisbee, consider yourself an experienced player, or land somewhere in between, you won’t want to miss out on this great opportunity to stay in shape, make some new friends and play some rocking ultimate!

This year we are going to have the usual shenanigans: 12 weeks of ultimate including an end-of-the-year tournament with party to follow. You will receive a t-shirt and a disc - all for only $60 (that’s only $5 per week).

Join us on Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m. in Bear Creek Park! The league begins on May 20, with subsequent games every Wednesday night. The league will conclude on Saturday, August 1 with an all day league-wide tournament. Bear Creek Park is located at 21st and Argus Blvd, just a few minutes from Old Colorado City.

Also, we will once again be providing a $10 refund to all first-year registrants and their recruiter.

So sign up and get ready for another great summer of SpringsUltimate!

For more information about the league, and to sign up, please visit: http://springsultimate.org/league

    Thanks!

For anyone who wasn't there today and is interested in the club team.  We need to recruit men and women for the team and have solid numbers at each practice.  If you are planning to play on the team we are practicing on Saturdays at 11am and Monday nights at 6pm @ bear creek park.  First practice will be this upcoming Saturday and then we will go from there with the two days a week.

In two weeks at the Saturday practice we will vote and decide on a team name and the design for the jersey.  So if you want to have any say on what you will be wearing (everyone on the team will be required to buy a light and dark jersey for the tourneys) bring a drawing of what you want on the shirt and an idea, or just be there to vote on what others have.

And unless there is lighting we will be practicing in harsh weather so just be prepared and we'll see everyone Saturday.

    Colorado Springs women,

I was wondering if I you would be interested in scrimmaging the Colorado college team next Sunday (April 19th)?  The team is going to be going to regionals the week after that and it would be good if they got a chance to get some game play before then.  However it wouldn't work unless I could get at least 6 (and preferably more) women to committ.  So if you are interested/ willing please let me know.   Time is flexible.

    About Team USA

Team USA will compete against national teams from Canada, Japan, Australia, Great Britian and host country Chinese Taipei at the 2009 World Games July 19-21 in Kaohsiung, Chinese Taipei. Out of ultimate shape after the winter?
Jumpstart your season with the first tournament of the year!

No need to worry about finding a team, or playing in non competitive
games; no need to drag your body out of bed on Sunday morning, just show
up, have some fun, and get the kinks out. We'll have breakfast for you
at the fields, and if you have to, you can be home in time for dinner.
Or stay and party with us afterwards.

I-25 north to highway 119, go west 3 miles and the fields are on your
    left. Sandstone Ranch District Park
Registration starts at 8:30, games start at 10:00; if you show up early
you can warm up with a game of goaltimate.
Entry fee $15, if you really can't afford $15, we can work something
    out.

Box Women's Ultimate would like to announce our tryout schedule for
the 2009 season. Making it to Nationals every year of our existence
as a team, we know what it takes to be one of the top teams in the
Southwest Region. Box is first and foremost all about a supportive and
competitive team atmosphere - we work hard and fitness is a top

interested in checking us out, we encourage you to participate in the
upcoming tryout activities! We will hold open practices/mixers until
we officially start tryouts in June. This will give us the opportunity
to get to know everyone interested in trying out and likewise provide
the opportunity for you to get to know us in a more informal setting.

Here are the dates for open practices/mixers:
Saturday, April 18th 10am - 2pm Oakhurst Park in Westminster, CO

Saturday, April 25th 10am - 2pm Oakhurst Park in Westminster, CO

*rainout dates are Sundays for both

Following these open practices/mixers, we will have official tryouts
June 13th 9am-1pm and 24th 6pm-9pm at Oakhurst Park. If you are
interested in trying out for Box but you have conflicts with any of
    these dates, please contact:

Subject: [All Players] Spring Sunday Early Registration

Alright folks, it's time to dust off the cleats and get on the fields!  Spring Sunday registration opened last week and we're offering an early bird registration through tomorrow, so if you're planning on playing the spring season check out the site and save a few dollars!
We are back at a city ran park this Spring but unfortunately we weren't able to get Cranmer or City Park (Soccer and Lacrosse groups have both).  We will be playing at Northside Park this season, located at I70/I25 (no, we're not playing on the highway!).  The park is limiting us on fields so we're only accepting 12 teams per division, if you're planning on playing the spring season get signed up early!
You can find full details on the season at this link.  Since this is a Denver city ran park dogs will once again be allowed and we'll be able to have kegs again!  We are also going to be doing discs for this season.  We're planning on having them in early season since we didn't do any discs last year.  The season starts March 22nd and runs through May 17th (8 regular weeks of play and a one day tournament).  Due to the number of fields we will be doing double headers every other week instead of every week.
We're looking forward to a fun season; hope to see you out there.

so uomo donna is a bit earlier this year, and they're looking to make it more competitive. no idea what the full implications are or how successful they'd be, but i'll try again to see if some quorum is interested in making a team, or picking up (as a handful of us did last year).

I am sure that many of you will get this email at least twice--my apologies....

Tucson Ultimate proudly announces the return of co-ed tournaments to Tucson with:

    Uomo Donna 2009, April 18th and 19th

We have field space for up to 16 teams and would like to put together a large and strong field to make up for the cancellation of Hoasis 2008.  So if missing out on Hoasis has left you desperately craving fun ultimate in the Tucson sun, put together a squad and head down to the Old Pueblo--if Uomo Donna 2009 is anything like last year, it should be a great time....

Specific bid information will be forthcoming but if you already know you're going to enter a team, feel free to actively seek out a bid by emailing me with your interest.

Also, if any Tucsonan is interested in acting as the tournament director for UD 2009 (the TD and his or her team will get a perk package), please email me with your interest and a brief note on why you think you can run Uomo Donna better than whatever putz ran it last year....

Please pass this along to any relevant listserves or interested individuals.

    Jeff Grobe

I am running a clinic for the Colorado College woman's team this Saturday at 10:30. I was wondering if any of you would be willing to help me run it.  A good chance to give a little back to the sport and help up an coming players learn a bit about the game.

I want to do 4 stations; marking, pivoting with throwing, defense and throwing longer throws.  However if someone wanted to help and had a particular area that they wanted to teach I would be open.  Each station will have a "coaching session" to demonstrate good practice and a drill.  Even if you don't feel you have expertise enough to lead, it would be great to have 2 people at each station, so you could help out someone else.

Please let me know if you are willing to help out with this.

    thanks so much,
    Emily

Weather in the springs is suppose to hold at 40 and winds around 10mph.  Nate, Emily and me are coming.  I talked to Brad, Mike Warren, and big John Woodward and they all said there is a good chance of them coming as well.
