According to Skøytenytt's "World Season Best - Men 1967/1968" and Erhard
Keller's "74 Schritte zum Ziel"
the 67/68 season saw no faster times than Erhard Keller's 39.2 from
28-01-1968 (Inzell) and
Keiichi Suzuki's 39.2 's from 01-03-1968 and 02-03-1968 (Karuizawa)

Subject: [Skate] Lepjoskin
On the wonderful DESG-site, under the development of the world records sat
on Medeo, I found that Anatolij Lepjoskin break the 39sec limit on 500m
07.02.1969 when he skated 38,8 (an inofficial world record that is). But
wasn`t the first break of that limit, and still from Lepjoskin, really 38,9
and skated at the end of 1968? Or is it just my memory fading out?
