Today in the newspaper AD:
Chad Hedrick left the hotel in Moscow for a trip to the Red Squar. On
his way back he used a taxi.
'The taxidriver asked 4000 roubles for a trip of nearly 15 minutes.
That's crazy. I didn't want to pay more than 1200 roubles (around 40
US$). But the taxidriver didn't accept. He locked the doors and drove
away from the hotel.'
Hedrick feared the worst, a kidnap. 'To be honest, i was seized by
panic. I didn't know to which place he should drive me. I didn't trust
it. You hear the most strange stories here in Moscow. When he stopped at
a crossing, i throw 1200 roubles to him, broke the car-window with my
elbow, opened the taxidoor from outside and run away, back to the
hotel.'
Don't worry about the worldchampionships. 'I'm fit enough to skate
coming weekend.'
