As my contribution to the Section jersey design, I’ve attached some existing designs for comment.
1. Design
As I understand the requirements, we need to minimise costs by using just white plus one other colour. The “Ventoux” design keeps the white at both front and back as a conspicuity aid, the rest being blue. The use of a flared white design from waist to shoulders is a hopefully more flattering design than the horizontal band used in the DA Centenary jersey.
2. Colour
The DA colour is traditionally red & white, as in the centenary jersey. This distinguishes us from other neighbouring DAs such as Notts. who are green & white. However I see no real need to observe this custom as this is to be a section jersey, rather than a DA jersey. It was suggested that a blue colour would be preferred. The Ventoux jersey uses a light blue colour; but I think the darker blue in the Ideal Travel jersey gives more “presence”. Perhaps a royal blue would be better still?
3. Lettering
I think we must have “CTC” before the section identity. Perhaps
CTC
South
Leics.
Rather than
CTC
S.Leics.
We need to avoid reference to the DA, else we have to refer to “Leicestershire & Rutland District Association”, or “Leics. & Rutland DA” at best.
4. Logo
If required, we could borrow our centenary logo, of a fox and two wheels. In our case we would use both wheels with the CTC wings, in place of the centenary wheel.
Thanks to Dave Billo for the photos - he asked for a curvy model, but didn't specify where the curves should be.
