RE: [SouthLeicsCTC] Re: Interesting and unusual article

Ivan,

I will admit that at one PBP control I asked for steak - only to find it was horsemeat. Now I have no knowledge of what racing the horse had been involved in, and what it might have been fed prior to it's demise. Obviously I was quite unaware of what I might have ingested as a result of a genuine mistake......  but if it included anything of a performance-enhancing nature, it was damn good value!

Incidentally there is an excellent feature in the December Pro-Cycling on the HGH test being developed by Dr.Richard Holt at Southampton University. To validate the test they needed 300 samples from elite athletes post-competition. At the World Champs in Paris large numbers of athletes showed great interest in the testing - but only 32 agreed to provide samples!

Peter Witting

Just checked the PBP website and realised that if this guy started in the
22.30 group on Monday 18th August he took 82 Hours 27 Mins. With all the
"help", he only beat my 1991 time by 37 minutes. I'd ask for my money back
if I were him!
