Hello everyone,From Max Scott:
Here's a new entry for your list & one to try if you are in that area:-
POPPIES TEA ROOM BRAUNSTON
Yesterday Pete Wallis & I cycled back from our ride to Napton-on-the Hill, parched & overheated & discovered a new oasis in Braunston, Northants version that is:-
Poppies Tea Room & gift shop is in the Main Street directly opposite the Londis supermarket, also open on Sundays, at GR (OS152) 542 664. It is run by two charming ladies who made us very welcome & has been open only since March this year. They are open from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. from Wednesday to Sunday inclusive & serve the usual very easy to prepare light snacks. There is inside seating for about 15 & additional seating out front in fine weather.
We had a very large pot of tea, with extra hot water, together with, in my case a cheese scone whilst Peter had a toasted teacake, accompanied by cold Cokes for about £4.00 each . Other patrons were being served large pieces of home made cake.
Unfortunately they have no 'phone so it's personal visits only. Two out of four stars I think with no 'phone number.
