Apologies to those who may take exception to the J.D.Wetherspoon entries, but their early opening on Sundays, all day hours, and value for money coffee & muffins and meals means they can't be ignored; (just heard today of a local who used their bus pass to travel for free to Market Harborough for a cheap meal at the Sugar Loaf before returning home!)

Max,
To reiterate what I said at our tea stop (it’s on your list) on today’s Thursday Club Ride……..Bloody marvellous compilation of useful places to stop when where out on two wheels. I was particularly pleased to also see a few stops on what would clearly be a “day’s out” e.g. Didcot in Oxfordshire – So pleased am I that I have had the audacity to recommend it’s contents to colleagues in the motorised two wheel section of The East Northants Motorcycle Club.
If you suddenly decide to start a tour of the main roads in Northampton, be sure to wear your body armour and if you succeed in finding any cycle friendly café’s worthy of entry into the Egon Scott refreshment guide you could always then go to Leicester as I understand there are quite a few eating houses there!
Thanks for “lifting the D notice” (although I thought you shared information a couple of years back)

Subject: Refreshment Guide
Hello everyone,
There is a popular rumour that I have for several years been compiling a list of cafes, etc & that I have been maintaining this as a jealously guarded secret never to be revealed to the cycling public. Today I have decided to relax the rules & attach my latest list for you to read, commit to memory & then destroy. If anyone has more up to date info or further suggestions for inclusion please let me know & I can incorporate them into the next edition .
Warning. There are 9 pages so do not be too rash with the printer button if you wish to save the planet.
Best wishes
Max
