This morning Jose, Josh, Chase, and Sergio braved the cold temps and
starter riding by 8:10am Bill and Nan were no shows.
Chase and I rode the early part of the ride through world famous old
Pompano as Josh and Jose were warming up. When we got to A1A Josh and
Jose went north for their longer advanced ride and Chase and I went So
south for a leisure ride Ending together where we started about 11:30am.
Josh and Jose were telling riding stories when they got back. As I
understand they were chasing wedgies at 23 mph on A1A, continuing the
recumbent tradition of harassment to wedgies. (LOL)
thanks for leading a great ride Josh.

Jose,

First, I want to tell everyone what a GREAT PRICE I got on those
tires. Hostel Shops gets as much for one of those tires as I paid for
all three, and THAT is a steal!

Finally, I'm seeing about an extra 1 mph on average on my rides after
the tires were put on. I'm pumping them to about 105psi with my new
hand floor pump before each ride, and seem to be rolling right along.

Thanks!

Guys,

I haven't been on a board in a week or two, and find some discussion
about a Lake O oneday. I'm up for this, and with the new tires, feel
pretty sure that my trike is up to it as well. I'll do some training
and make sure that I'm up to the task. Plan on me joining this ride.

Are you planning to start from John Stretch Park again? If so, it's
win-win for me, as I can always bail out at my place in Okeechobee if
I'm not up to the task, and run and get my truck later.

Don't, let people know about the hills at Okee., they may not come.
Let me set the record straight, there are no hills at Okee. only valleys and some up to 10 foot below grade
There were also other reasons for more gears,  like my left hand needed more to do than apply the brake and the Q rings were sold in pairs.

Okee rides are open for all riders Vertical and Horizontal, join us for a relaxed  Fun  ride with no cars and no hills.

ET,

I am laughing about "more gears" which is just what you need for Okeeheelee Park.  It is so hilly and all, why I'll bet there is at least ten feet of total elevation change over the course of the 10 miles or so of each lap.  Maybe I should have you build me a fixed gear recumbent because I never seem to change gears from one month to the next.

I'm Ready to ride this Saturday morning,
I got my Recliner bike fixed, more gears, a new custom low back seat with welded on CRAB flag and now it fits in my Honda SUV.

Josh your guys did a great job on my bike,  I'm sure now they know, that not easy to use stock parts on a custom product. I only had to remove a small amount of metal to make it clear the Q-rings but the were 100% on with the chain length..  I'm very pleased with your work and prices. if anyone needs bicycle repair Josh is the man to see.
Jose, I'm sure that the problem with your new bike can be solved easy, hope to see you and others at Okee. for FUN ride

ET and I are trying to keep the tradition alive with a ride every Saturday morning starting from the boathouse at 0800.  Sometimes one of us can't make it, but it works out well anyway most of the time.  If we know you are coming we can circle back around to pick up stragglers too.

Jose,

I was alluding to the point that you are member #1 and I believe you
are storing those 1206 messages in a can buried in your back yard.

Of course ET has been a mainstay of the group. He, along with Bill
Stevenson were a couple of the first two that I rode with. At
Okeeheelee Park, they have sustained a series of Saturday rides
in a beautiful and scenic setting.

BTY ET, sorry it was me that told Jose of your skills of design and
creation. I look forward to seeing your new bike and whatever you may
fabricate for Jose.

Will you and Bill be riding Okee Park occasionally this year?

Later,
Bill

I'm coming up to Jupiter for the Battery Beach Burnout at FAU to
support my friend Dana. Let me know if you're interested in a ride

Anyone else that's interested in riding up, I'm taking the Tri-Rail

to find an inexpensive motel and ride back Sunday.

 Sergio,

Sunday, you know I'll be riding somewhere, any ideas? Are you going to be in Hialeah, coach?  Fly the Busway? Hollywood? Pompano will be difficult this weekend.

Saturday, I've made plans to ride on the KEY with a couple, midday. They haven't ridden on KB before. Keep an eye on Jose so he doesn't freeze up.

Jose, sorry to miss your first ride of The Program. But, I will be joining you in the near future.

Later guys,

Great tips Bill. My BP has always been pretty good but my pulse has never been very low - not even when I was in much better shape a few years ago.

Jose,

On your rest days try to put aside 20 minutes for some serious
stretching. Also, if you have a blood pressure monitor, check it
as soon as your get home. Along with that, checking first and last
waking hours will give you some positive feedback.

As long as I have been active my BP has been good. But, since I
have been racking up the miles, it's dropped 20/30 points. When I
returned from the Key riding with Joe, it was 96/57. My resting heart
rate is 48 to 51. My 'bents have been berr y, berry good to me.

See you on the road soon,
Bill

I'm Ready to ride this Saturday morning,
I got my Recliner bike fixed, more gears, a new custom low back seat with welded on CRAB flag and now it fits in my Honda SUV.

Josh your guys did a great job on my bike,  I'm sure now they know, that not easy to use stock parts on a custom product. I only had to remove a small amount of metal to make it clear the Q-rings but the were 100% on with the chain length..  I'm very pleased with your work and prices. if anyone needs bicycle repair Josh is the man to see.

Later,
Bill

Bill.

Bill S.,  I hope you are in town and riding this Saturday, bring your best downhill racer....................ET

Hey Bill,

I'd guess with ET, it's not the immediate need for more gears. ET
being a craftsman, his enjoyment is the creation. Or, maybe he just
like gears.

I will make it up there soon and more often.

Later,
Bill
