A funny thing happened on the

way home from the

Hollywood Beach adventure ride.

It realy put a smile on my face!

Only it was'nt funny.

It's like this:

A "notorious" section of Griffin Road

Which had no designated Bike Lane

Has been repaved and marked with

Bicycle specific signage.

Hooray a Bike Lane

Hooray fresh smooth asphalt.

Now There is a bike lane from

Flamingo Road to US 1

West of Flamingo Griffin

Is now being widened.

Looks like Griffin is best

From east to west.

I returned from Lakeland today.

The only trail I got to ride was the Van Fleet trail.  I rode about 15
miles at 19 mph, and then another 15 at a very leisurely pace.  The
Strada definitely handles better at speed, but I'm getting better on it.

I also got around the city by bike for the most part.  The hills around
town were a blast!  The Strada climbs much better than I thought it
would.

I also made a trip to Power On Cycling to try out some Bacchetta
options.  Power On Cycling is a Bacchetta dealer.  Anyways, I tried out
the Euromesh seat (didn't like it), and the Swanson seat (found it much
better than the euromesh).  I didn't know that the Swanson seats were
made by that shop, but I mentioned them when speaking with the owner of
the store.  I also picked up some dumonde tech lite chain lube.  I'll
be ordering an under-seat rack, light mount (I like my bars wrapped as
they are, so I have to mount lights to the front derailleur extension),
and probably even a Swanson seat through them when I get the cash.

Does anyone have any headrest suggestions, if I do go hardshell on my
Strada?

Hi from the north end of the big lake!

Took my new trike back to Josh at Atlantic Bike today for a FREE
adjustment.  The left hand disk brake has been dragging again, an
needed looking into.  Was warmly greeted by Josh and Beth, and after
waiting my turn for service (I was number 3 in line) got it all taken
care of in good order.  As we were finishing up, who showed up but
Sergio, looking for a fender.  First thing he asked was," Who's
tractor is that parked outside?"  Must have something to do with the
John Deere Stickers on the Cat Trike.

It's a LONG way from Okeechobee to Atlantic Bike (right at 100 miles
each way) but always worth the trip.  THANKS JOSH!

8:00. I'll probably go up to the inlet back to LW bridge then back to
Wellington. Did this route last week and came in at just over 50

I'll going to try and ride A1A this Saturday. I'm thinking of
starting at Bryant Park in Lake Worth and riding north to the Palm
Beach Inlet and then back south on A1A to Delray and Atlantic Ave.

Hi David,
I sent you 3 Google maps from Lakeland (I-4 & US98) to:

Berkley Rd (Van Fleet trail southern end) about a 16 minute ride.

Croom Rital Rd for the Withlacoochee trail, maybe too far about 55 minute ride

Bartow Rd for the Fort Fraser Trail in south Lakeland. about 20 minutes

Trails are open until DARK, so maybe after your work times???

Give me a little notice and will try to meet you on the trails.

I won't be at Okeeheelee this Saturday, but I will there the Saturday after that (if there's a ride then).

I've solved the legroom issue. I just dialed in the seat, and I've still got a bit of room for play (even on the medium frame).

I never take multiple bikes with me. Back when I rode DFs, I wasn't driving. My mom's car had a rack that I put the bikes on. I just finished laminating a kayak rack from wood strips, and am thinking about doing something similar for the bacchetta (it would go on top of the roof). On the occasion that I did take the Sun 'bent around, I just removed both wheels, the seat, and put the handlebars down. The Bacchetta should be a bit easier to get in the car.

I was working on my USS earlier and remembered how you can add
a little more leg room. On my bike there is a fitting that holds
the cable on the right side just behind the seat release.
Sometimes it will not allow the seat clamp to pass by. You can
release the clamp, loosen the upper allen bolts , slide the clamp
bracket past, tighten the allens, and tighten the clamp. You may
have to fiddle with it some.

Be careful not to bind the brake cable. It might take some adjustment
of the cable to keep it form binding. This may get you the extra
space you need.

It looks like you have some good trails to ride on your trip. Lucky
dog. BTW, what method do you use to take your bikes with you?
