Bill Everglades bicycle club has rides in your area Steve from Coral
Gables is a member here and at the Bacchetta forum maybe he can give
you some info. I some times ride from Pompano Beach to Deering State
(100 miles) or Key Biscayne (80miles) or Coconut Grove (90) and
back..you are welcome to join me when I get down there.
But I start my rides up in Pompano Beach at about 5:00am or 6:00am so
the earliest I get down there is 8:00am. I may be heading down there
this Saturday.

Unfortunately I can't make it to many of the Miami rides. I'm up north
in PB County. I do try to make it down there to the SJCMC rides when
time permits.

I look forward to meeting you at a ride (up here or down there) soon.

Are you up for joining us later this month on the around Lake
Okeechobee L.O.S.T. ride?

Miami Springs and would enjoy meeting you and taking a local ride.

It was me. Bill is a Miami old timer (he remembers when Stiltsville
was 20-30 houses!) but I brushed him up on some of the ins and outs
of the trails.

Welcome Bill!

The ride you did with John (might that be John Riley?) is on the route
of the Slo Joe Coco Metric Century (SJCMC) ride. The next one should
be sometime in April. It's always a great time and a great group of
people. Watch the site for more details on that ride as April approaches.

Ted

PS: great bike choice! I ride a Strada too.

Hi SFRR riders:

My first ride with another bent rider was yesterday from Wainright
Park to the Key Biscayne lighthouse and back. It was great and I must
thank John for the tour.

I ride a Strada for transportation, exercises, health, and joy. I
have yet to be disappointed.

It would be great to hook up with riders, at whatever riding pace, in
the Miami area. I am also interested in making group rides.

Any info that you may have will be appreciated.

Best regards,
Bill

It looks like Steve needs Sundays and later this month or so. I would
like to do this as early this month as possible, like Feb 16th or
23rd. Steve, is the 16th or 23rd doable for you?
Is there anyone else who wants to chime in here? Ted, Jose', Sheri?
I spoke with Payton who is also interested, but is backed up with
bike work for about a month, so that is a maybe at best.

Yes as said before by Shari Shark Valley ride was fantastic.
You folks that did't make it missed a very good ride.
BTW on the ride back to the cars a little birdie flew by my ear and
told me that be two of the members in attendance were considering
geting a Bacchetta Corsa recumbent ;) very soon so they could go even
faster!! Yes the go fast crowd will soon have more company;)
And guess what. Rumors are, one of those members was seen today at the
Bicycle Spot. Maybe placing an order?
Will have to wait and see who shows with a new Corsa at upcoming rides.
This suspence alone should increase riders participation on future
scheduled rides:)

I used to exclusively ride bicycles until they got too expensive. Several of us ride 'em.

There were eight of us at Shark Valley Saturday night: Conni and Al,
Nan Wood, John Riley, Sergio, Mark and Cindy (all the way from
Jupiter!), and me. The weather was warmer than expected, but the
wildlife did not disappoint. Bunches of gators sunned themselves
along the banks on the path, and grets, storks, herons and anhingas
were in abundance.

We all gathered at the observation tower, and watched several
alligators and turtles in the pond below as zillions of wading birds
from all directions flew in to roost in the trees across from the pond
as the sun set. It was a beautiful, serene scene as the sun dipped
below the horizon, turning the clouds a gorgeous orange and pink.

There was still a slight glow as we continued counterclockwise around
the loop, finishing up the final 8 miles in pitch dark with luminous
stars overhead and fireflies blinking all around us. After loading up
our gear, we caravaned east to the Canton 4 Chinese restaurant on SW
8th St. east of the Turnpike and enjoyed good food and great
conversation.

What a wonderful relaxing way to spend an evening. We are going to
plan this again before it gets too warm, so keep it in mind. An
hour's drive and a world away from Ft. Lauderdale.

I can vouch for what Mark sells. It's a great deal and he takes great
care of his bikes. I purchased one from him a few months ago.
