Would you mind giving me some more detailed info on the Okeeheelee ride
on Saturday.  Where do you meet.  How long is the ride. What pace...etc.
I can't join you tomorror but I would like to do the ride next weekend.
I'm looking forward to riding with other bent riders.

I have been intending to get to some of the organized rides that are
posted, but after the public flogging I took after the last one, I'm a
little reluctant. Just my luck, I show up and make an "illegal" pass
and have to go through it all again ;) with some other self proclaimed
road marshall/cycle safety expert.

I do hope we can get a two day ride together for later in the year, as
there is a little part of the trail around Lake Okeechobee, that I
haven't seen yet.

I probably won't know if I'm doing the Saturday AM ride till the very last minute but Monday is a good day for a metric! Any suggestions? An A1A metric might be a good idea!!!! Any takers?

Hiya kids! Long time, no see!

I admit, I have been remiss in keeping up in what is going on with
the recumbent crowd in the area.  It seems that since my accident
(you remember, when the guy drove a tractor up my leg) last fall, I
have not been able to get on the bike and ride.  First it hurt to
ride, and then I changed jobs and can't ride the 20 miles out to the
ranch and be there to work at 7am (road is a killer and the work days
are 10 hours long).  To keep costs down, I bought a motorcycle (Honda
VT1100 Shadow) and have been commuting on it.  Not as much fun as my
actionbent, but more competitive on SR70, where traffic runs between
65 and 85mph.  So I tend to get in my two wheel fun, on the
motorcycle.

But I SWEAR, I'm getting back on the bike, so that I can be in shape
to ride around Lake Okeechobee later this year.  It was DECEMBER for
the two day ride around the lake right?  Remember, you're all coming
to my place on Saturday night for a cookout and beer.

So, that's all from north of the lake...
