Yes, the link is flawed; I discovered this when 2 of my emails to him bounced...
but being the stubborn Scot that I am, found and fixed it and sent an email to
him (Joe Suarez) asking him to detail reasoning behind the exclusion of 'bents
as "not accepted team equipment"... Rick Flohr answered for him (below), a copy
& paste version of what was sent Jose, except he did spare me the stomach
churning line "You even may win a trophy."
Hi Chere,
Here it is, recumbents are not to be part of a regular roadcycle team in
order to be recognized as a team.
However, you may participate individually or be part of a recumbent team.
As a team however, this year all teams, regardless their equipment are in an
identical category.
Where in Florida does the first recumbent in a universal bike event receives
a trophy?
This may very well change (improve) for the 2004 version.
Joe will survey how many recumbents participate. What time it will take for
your category to finish. W.o.w., if there are more 30 recumbents/recumbent
teams, a separate team category may very well established (same with
tandems). All BAF event results (top 5) will be posted on BAF WEB, The
SKEELER, Dewielersite.net. so, it will be a great promotion.
Is this exciting or what?
Further more I suggest that you'll meet with Joe Suarez on Saturday (April
12) morning if you have some suggestions for the 2004 edition. It will be
welcomed.
See you at the BAF 2003
