JERSEY AUCTION RAISES $31,700 FOR MDA
NORFOLK, VA - Today, the Norfolk Admirals announced that the club's
annual MDA Jersey Auction held this past Saturday raised $31,700.
Following Norfolk's game against Portland on March 25th, the team
auctioned off the players' game-worn jerseys to benefit the Muscular
Dystrophy Association of Hampton Roads.
Once again this year, the Admirals donned special black third jerseys,
which were then auctioned off to the highest bidders. The highest
winning bids were made for the sweaters of Mike Brown at $4,000 and
Quintin Laing at $3,400, the second- and third-highest winning bids in
Norfolk's AHL history. In addition to the 22 players currently on
Norfolk's roster, jerseys were also auctioned for Dustin Byfuglien,
Mark Cullen and James Wisniewski, who are currently playing with the
Blackhawks.

Additionally, the Admirals held a silent auction on Scope's concourse
for jerseys of Milan Bartovic and Michal Barinka who are also
currently with Chicago. Those jerseys sold for a
combined $1,350.
