NORFOLK, VA - Today, the Norfolk Admirals announced that forward Scott
Bertoli has been signed to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO). He is
signed under emergency conditions, replacing Shawn Thornton who was
injured in Norfolk's game versus Hartford on March 18th.
A native of Milton, ON, Bertoli stands at 5'11" and 205 lbs. He has
played for the ECHL's Trenton Titans since 1999-2000, amassing 150
goals and 297 assists for 447 points with 512 penalty minutes in 442
career games. This season, he leads Trenton in goals, assists, points
and power play goals (8), and shares the team-lead in plus/minus
rating among current players with a plus-5 rating.
Bertoli previously played in three AHL games with Lowell in 1999-2000
and one with Saint John in 2001-02. Prior to turning pro, he attended
Princeton University where he tallied 41 goals and 77 assists for 118
points with 253 PIM in 130 games.
