...So when Nixon had similar ideas the Rethuglicans began to assemble
the strategies and laws that led to 911 and the enslavement of
Americawhich is now close upon us.
In the magazine's "Happy Camp" section we've put together the entire
structure of our doom for you to see and thus understand what is
going on in front of your eyes. The latest in this is the little-
known $385 million contract for the Halliburton subsidiary KBR to
build detention facilities for "an emergency influx of immigrants."
The same type of code words were used by American traitor Ollie North
for his orwellian Rex-84 "readiness exercise" in 1984. This called
for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)to round up and
detain 400,000 imaginary "refugees." Another executive order for
continuity of government (COG) had been drafted in 1982 by FEMA head
Louis Giuffrida. The order called for "suspension of the
Constitution" and the "declaration of Martial law." Now isn't that
special?
These are just a few examples of the laws already on the books, that
are just a pen stroke away from being implemented. You owe it to
yourself and your family and your friends to visit the Happy Camps
sites and read and understand all of it. Over 20,000 of you have
visited the sites in the last year alone and know what's in store for
us, do you?

===Nurse Threatened With Sedition For Criticizing Bush
by Maccabee http://www.DailyKos.com/
Fri Feb 10, 2006
This is how it starts people,Laura Berg is a clinical nurse
specialist at the VA Medical Center in Albuquerque, where she
has worked for 15 years.
Shortly after Katrina, she wrote a letter to the editor of the weekly
paper the Alibi criticizing the Bush Administration.
After the paper published the letter in its September 15-21 issue, VA
administrators seized her computer, alleged that she had written the
letter on that computer, and accused her of
"sedition."
Here's what her letter said. if you can even believe this
link and more on the flip
Find it here: http://progressive.org/...
"I am furious with the tragically misplaced priorities and criminal
negligence of this government," it began. "The Katrina tragedy in the
U.S. shows that the emperor has no clothes!" She mentioned that she
was "a VA nurse" working with returning vets. "The public
has no sense of the additional devastating human and financial costs
of post-traumatic stress disorder," she wrote, and she worried about
the hundreds of thousands of additional cases that might result from
Katrina and the Iraq War.
"Bush, Cheney, Chertoff, Brown, and Rice should be tried for criminal
negligence," she wrote. "This country needs to get out of Iraq now
and return to our original vision and priorities of caring for land
and people and resources rather than killing for oil. . . . We need
to wake up and get real here, and act forcefully to remove a
government administration playing games of smoke and mirrors and
vicious deceit.
Otherwise, many more of us will be facing living hell in these times."
Her computer was seized, Berg wrote a memo to her bosses seeking
information and an explanation. Mel Hooker, chief of the human
resources management service at the Albuquerque VA, wrote Berg back
on November 9:
"The Agency is bound by law to investigate and pursue any act which
potentially represents sedition," he said. "In your letter . . . you
declared yourself `as a VA nurse' and publicly declared the
Government which employs you to have `tragically misplaced priorities
and criminal negligence' and advocated, `act forcefully to remove a
government administration playing games of smoke and mirrors and
vicious deceit.' "
Berg, who is not talking to the press, is "scared for her job"
and "pretty emotionally distressed," says Peter Simonson, executive
director of the ACLU of New Mexico."We were shocked to see the word
`sedition' used," Simonson tells The Progressive.
"Sedition? That's like something out of the history books."
So the ACLU is currently helping her, but the entire idea that
someone can be charged just for criticizing the president is beyond
me. The letter itself apparently worked it's way to the ladder all
the way to the FBI. Good God, this is how it starts

===You certainly have mine... Computers seized for writing about
PTSD? Well, I guess a whole bunch of us should be prepared for the
knock on the door (as if they still do it that way, anymore...)
Jesus. We're wasting manpower on this? A nurse treating vets
returning home with PTSD is the enemy to our government?
I can't believe my parents fled Communist Hungary for this.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can
change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. --

==My question is id she e-mail the letter to the newspaper? Was it
intercepted? Is this an example of what they are really wiretapping?
==Yikes! Does this mean they have files on us too? Some of us here at
dkos have accused Bush et. al. of much worse transgressions this.
Do you think they may have file on us here?
Gosh. I've written over 30 diaries calling for Bushes impeachment,
indictment on war crimes, and have either implied or accussed him
direclty of incompetence, malfeasence, lack of compassion, or wisdom,
conspiracy to subvert congressional and judicial oversight,
laziness, being mean spirited, unpatriotic, eggregious abuses of
syntac, grammer, clarity of expression, and many other charges.
Should I be worried? In case I disappear suddenly, let me say
thanks to all of you here for you many kindness, support, spelling
corrections, and other assistence in my campaigns to bring these
scoundrals to justice. It's been great fun and I will miss you
all. LOL
But please don't let this story intimidate you into silence folks.
This nurse is probably being hounded by low level cheeseball VA
administrators for doing this on or with government property. As long
as you use your own property, steer clear of anything that could be
interpreted as a threat either to the president or of violence or
breaking the law, and stay respectful, accurate, and law abiding you
should have little to fear from the FBI, CIA, or NSA etc. at least in
terms of sedition.
A lot of our government agents are even more upset with the Bush
violations of our intelligence traditions and agents than the average
folks. And support our efforts to bring Bush to justice in many
unseen ways.
And as long as you are cautious about spelling, "diary pimping", and
excessively long or off topic comments you shouldn't get into too
much trouble with the dkos Troll police either. But the backlash of
our own sometimes relatively hot-headed community is probably a more
realistic concern for most folk here than government prosecution for
sedition. LOL
Keep on blogging to bring the Bush criminals to justice! And can we
have some fun doing it? At least on a Friday night. I plan too.
Helping to bring justice back to the White House, one indictment at a
time.
==she was found innocent by the va in a follow up on my blog skippy,
i repeat what the free new mexican news reported:
the aclu said wednesday the department of veterans affairs found no
evidence laura berg used her office computer to write the critical
letter.
VA (Veteran's Admin) human resources chief mel hooker said in a nov.
9 letter that his agency was obligated to investigate "any act which
potentially represents sedition," the aclu said...
it seeks an apology from Hooker "to remedy the unconstitutional
chilling effect on the speech of va employees that has resulted from
these intimidating tactics."even if berg had used an office computer,
neither that nor her criticism approached "unlawful insurrection,"
said peter simonson, executive director of the aclu.
=Next thing we know, The Bush Adm. will be incarcerating little old
ladies for knitting too agressively in public.
==Sedition would suggest she was trying to overthrow the overnment...
what government?
Oh you mean the crony capitalists?
Perhaps it's time for about 50+million US Citizens to commit Sedition.
==Well Bushco has accomplished what it set out to do Now anyone who
reads this will think twice about sending a letter to the editor that
is critical of Bush and his cabal. Maybe not you or I, but you can
bet that a lot of people who learn that they might be prosecuted
for sedition will have second thoughts.
I won't be surprised if she is charged with sedition. By the time
the case gets through the courts, win or lose, people will self-
regulate any public criticism they might otherwise have made.
My guess is that the administration was overjoyed to read that she is
terribly frightened.
That's what they want to instill in everyone: fear. It appears to be
working just fine.
===Bushco SLAPP Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation. Used
by corporations to keep citizens from participating in opposition to
environmentally damaging projects, etc., by suing them for
libel/slander, etc. Shut them up if not bankrupt them. Now it's the
government doing it. Sedition my azz.
===This is clearly not Sedition Its patriotism
==Sam Adams Brewer Traitor I always wondered how you could be
patriotic to a country that did not yet exist.
In truth, I don't think that sedition is ever the same thing as
patriotism. Sedition undermines the very country itself. That's why
crriticising Bush or any administration may be patriotic.
Who is the better friend: the one who always tells you that you look
great or the one that points out that your zip is undone ?
==Exactly Katrina was a criminal act. Somebody is negligent.
And they are trying to hide this. Fema and DHS are scared the public
will find out the level of incompetence and negligence during Katrina
handling. (Chertoff didn't even know anything about people stranded
and tried to spin.)
=Sedition Defined here.
n. the federal crime of advocacy of insurrection against the
government or support for an enemy of the nation during time of war,
by speeches, publications and organization. Sedition usually involves
actually conspiring to disrupt the legal operation of the government
and is beyond expression of an opinion or protesting government
policy.
Proving sedition in this case is gonna be tough. It will require many
investigators who could otherwise be looking for real threats.
=They're not going to try her for sedition They don't have a chance
in hell. But they don't need to.
They've accused her. They've threatened her job. And next they'll
take it away for "misusing government property."
Jack-booted thugs don't need courts.
====She didn't misuse government property If you read the article
itself, the VA states that they seized her government-issued personal
computer, and had determined that it wasn't used to send the letter.
So there's no indication of any misuse of government property,
although that's apparently what they started out to
investigate. The use of the term "sedition" is simply bizarre (and
that's not even a strong enough word for it).
==I know that And they know that.
So? They'll do what they want, and say what they want.
=Actually, BushCo is guilty of sedition conspiring to disrupt the
legal operation of the government
The amount of scandals and probable cause actually befit the actions
of (and hence require removal of) the Executive Branch and the
majority party Congressional leadership, by that
definition.
They have purposely undermined the government, and there are
conspiracy charges on the books. Treason (Plame outing) and sedition
(multiple counts).
What a phockin' great representation of America.
=They don't care if they win the case - they figure just charging her
will have the desired chilling effect, I guess. Our job, once the
ACLU gets the case thrown out, is to ridicule them loud and long.
This is a job for Al Franken.
I'd like to know - how did "they" get wind of her writings? Was it
published as a LTE?
==is it seditious to ask what recourse we might have as citizens? See
this new diary: Do We Have to Arrest Bush & Company Ourselves?
