Prizes will be awarded at the event through the graciousness of

Now is the time for the Masters of the Lion, Scimitar Talon 2nd
wave
1st line to get prepared for war and prove what they are
learning to
to the populance.

I would like to see who will be available for that day for
Waterbearers, List and Herald for the event. I have the baldrics
made. I just need the people to be able to fill the
positions.Please

I would like to see at least a dozen tricolors out there in
youth
tournament and the adults there for support.

I was under the impression that practice was cancelled this week do to
the Barronal(?) anniversery.  i cross-checked this with the calender
posted here and the anniversery is schedualed for Friday and not
saterday.

i would just like clarification as to if when the anniversery
festivites are and whether or not we are actually having practice this
week.

Just a reminder that the Fugl Brenna Dagorhir group will be meeting this
Sunday at
5:30 PM for Battle Gaming at the Venturoso Park (commonly known as Acoma
Park) located at the Corner of 32nd Street and Acoma Drive.

A new member will be driving up from Tuscan so let make it worth the drive.

Also we have been invited to a SCA practice on Saturday with the Barbarians
Freehold Alliance and Scimitar-Talon Academy:

Where: Washington Park at on 21st Ave just south of Glendale Ave. Use the
21st Ave entrance and look for the armored people.
When: Fighting starts at 5:00 and will be SCA heavies (for you who dare and
can fit into the loaner armor) and Dagorhir (so bring your weapons if you
have them).

Note: Child instructions and Unit tactics runs from 3:00 – 5:00 so if you’ve
never seen unit formations before I highly suggest you come and see and try.

Remember to tell a friend, because the more fighters there are the more fun
we’ll have.

Greetings and welcome to the Scimitar-Talon School for the Knightly arts!

We will be having a series of contests throughout the year.

One of our ongoing contests we have throughout the year is designed to promote
the precepts we are teaching in this school.

The main ideas we are emphasizing with this contest are:
Service  Courtesy and Etiquitte  Fighting
Optimism (looking for the good in people and what they do)


These activities are to be reported by others as outlined below.

This contest is active

The following are the rules of the tournament:

1. All activities are to be reported by either:
	 a. 2 students
	 b. Any one Instructor.
	 c. Anyone that is the recipient of the tasks
		 (The person you helped, fought, A&S Judge,...)

2. ANY solicitation on the recipients part:
	 a. Will void the report
	 b. Will void any points that would be awarded.

3. Points will be awarded for each of the following:
	 For each different non-school fighter fought.
	 1 point for non peer
	 2 points for peer (Knights or better to open)
	 - Can be in tourney or singled out combat
	 1 pt for every A&S category entered
	 1 pt for every helpful act

Ongoing points. (After the event)
	 Participation points:
	 1 point: Every Scimitar-Talon Class attended
		 - Must be there and participating for at least 80% of the time.
	 1 point: Every event where Scimitar-Talon is present as an entity.
	 1 point: Every new student that returns to their 4th class
	 1 point: Every helpful act

Remember:
	 - Must be witnessed by any instructor or 2 students
	 - Names must be submitted with no solicitation from the student.
	 - Written detailed account/date/time of what the student did.

In regards to the 'Helpful Act' points:
	 The criteria that Instructors or students use to report is subjective.
	 If you get upset because no one is submitting helpful act points for you,
	 then there are 2 main reasons why:
	 1. You are not doing it for the right reasons,
		 (that's why you're upset.)
	 2. You are not doing enough that it is obvious.
		 (Not that this is a bad thing, but remember, most people are not used to
looking for the best)

These points will be tallied up and reported quarterly.
An award will presented at the end of the year School Gathering
