Greetings and welcome to the Scimitar-Talon School for the Knightly arts!

We will be having a series of contests throughout the year.

One of our ongoing contests we have throughout the year is designed to promote
the precepts we are teaching in this school.

The main ideas we are emphasizing with this contest are:
Service  Courtesy and Etiquitte  Fighting
Optimism (looking for the good in people and what they do)


These activities are to be reported by others as outlined below.

This contest is active

The following are the rules of the tournament:

1. All activities are to be reported by either:
	 a. 2 students
	 b. Any one Instructor.
	 c. Anyone that is the recipient of the tasks
		 (The person you helped, fought, A&S Judge,...)

2. ANY solicitation on the recipients part:
	 a. Will void the report
	 b. Will void any points that would be awarded.

3. Points will be awarded for each of the following:
	 For each different non-school fighter fought.
	 1 point for non peer
	 2 points for peer (Knights or better to open)
	 - Can be in tourney or singled out combat
	 1 pt for every A&S category entered
	 1 pt for every helpful act

Ongoing points. (After the event)
	 Participation points:
	 1 point: Every Scimitar-Talon Class attended
		 - Must be there and participating for at least 80% of the time.
	 1 point: Every event where Scimitar-Talon is present as an entity.
	 1 point: Every new student that returns to their 4th class
	 1 point: Every helpful act

Remember:
	 - Must be witnessed by any instructor or 2 students
	 - Names must be submitted with no solicitation from the student.
	 - Written detailed account/date/time of what the student did.

In regards to the 'Helpful Act' points:
	 The criteria that Instructors or students use to report is subjective.
	 If you get upset because no one is submitting helpful act points for you,
	 then there are 2 main reasons why:
	 1. You are not doing it for the right reasons,
		 (that's why you're upset.)
	 2. You are not doing enough that it is obvious.
		 (Not that this is a bad thing, but remember, most people are not used to
looking for the best)

These points will be tallied up and reported quarterly.
An award will presented at the end of the year School Gathering

Hey everyone,

My birthday is coming up on the 2nd of July but since I have to have
minor back surgery on the 29th of June I thought that I'd celebrate a
bit early. So this Saturday night starting around 7:00 I will be
having a BBQ (technically we'll be grilling but you get the point).

We will be serving burnt pig or chicken flesh (what ever is cheaper)
baked beans, corn on the cob and some basic munchies anything else you
want to grill, eat or drink please BYO and bring a bit more for those
without.

Please, RSVP so that I can get an approximate head count.

I know that it is Baronial Saturday but better late than never.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Next Saturday, there will be a polling of the populace for the next
Baron/Baroness of Aetenveldt.  It will start at 11:00 and end at
1:30.  For those that will be going, contact me as it would be cool
to see our tri-colors go to the polling as a group.

The applicants that we know are Jean André and Baron Otto

So you know our position on the polling, We would like to support
Baron Otto to return to the Atenveldt Baronial Throne.

He has helped us a lot and has donated a lot of metal we have used to
armor and field our soldiers.

Though we support any decision you may have, we would like to suggest
that Baron Otto would be the best choice.

I, Brother Thomas, with the blessing of Baron Otto and his Lady,am
running a peer vs. youth tournament at Atenveldt Baronial Anniversay.
It is a mixed weapons tournament where the peer must fight at the same
level as the youth.(I will have a tape measure at the event.)

It will be exciting and challenging to see the future of the SCA fight
those that have been awarded a white belt in one on one tournament. It
will give those that have acheived knighthood a chance to see their
future competition on the field of honor.

6/10/06 - I will be in the middle of rehersal for Dave Moore's Wedding
(Sylvanus), however Aonghusson (VJ) will be there.
