On Friday night, the new shire (name pending: Bergenholt) I'm
helping start is hosting a general potluck for the event. Sometime
after the potluck, I and my lads will conduct the rebirth ceremony
for the Free Company of the Phoenix, a somewhat variable war company
comprised of multiple units I discussed with Aeongus (sp) a couple
of months back.

As an FYI, here's the general breakdown. It will be conducted in 3
parts. Part 1 is the introduction of the Phoenix Company and its
concept. Then each participant (both fighters and support staff)
will declare themselves as a companion (committed solely to the base
company), an ally, or non-associated . Aeongus and I have
previously spoken of alliance (at least), so please direct any
questions to him on this issue.

Part 2 is the actual ceremony - only companions and allies will
participate. I will speak some words and then each participant for
their part will sacrifice to the flame something they wish to
unburden. This is usually just a word or phrase on a scrap of
paper, but has in the past included decks of cards, a shield
fragment, banners, personal favors, etc. Participants may choose
not to explain their contribution.

Part 3 is the election of the officer corps by the companions.

In the 10th year since its birth, The Phoenix rises again at
Highlands war.
