Recently I rode the Mt Laguna triangle and was reminded what a scenic
and tandem-friendly route it is, so Stoker & I would like to offer the
following ride for the SDTC calendar. The choice of a Fall date is to
wait for traffic congestion to decline after the summer season. The
weather should be nice in the early Fall.
Breath of Fresh Air Laguna Triangle (Sunday September 30, 8:30 rollout)
- Enjoy the local forested resources with a loop ride from Pine Valley,
up Sunrise Highway to Mt Laguna store, then on to the Cuyamaca
junction, Lake Cuyamaca and back to Pine Valley. 44 miles with 4,000
feet of climbing (in very manageable pitch and placement). If you
haven't done it, you should. If you have, then we don't need to twist
your arms. Driving Directions to Pine Valley will be provided, along
with route map and routeslips when the date approaches. The group will
also be able to choose from 3 lunch options: Julian (a few extra
miles), L. Cuyamaca, or Pine Valley.
