This Sunday's Ride, March 4th   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #666 of 1202 |
Hi everyone.

This Sunday, March 4thSarah and I will be leading a significant variant of my Rancho Santa Fe rides that meanders in reverse around through the area in relatively low traffic this time of year.  We'll start from Holiday Park in Carlsbad, and head south for a warm-up before turning inland Then we'll do some climbing on La Costa to reach Rancho Santa Fe and visit the local highlights in a reverse jog including a loop around the lake, generally weaving our way east and then south.  We have a few surprises for those familiar with our usual routing.  There are two optional rest stops along the way, then we head west to return to the coast and return through Encinitas and Leucadia where there are plenty of lunch stops, again optional.  Total distance is 44 miles (and there are some cutoffs to make it shorter, and a fair bit of climbing but none of it too long.

The ride will start at 900a.m. at the Holiday Park in Carlsbad.
We'll also have route slips at the ride start for those wishing to zip around this course at a faster pace and finish before noon

To get to the ride start from the southexit I-5 at Tamarack, turn right and then immediately left onto Pio Pico Drive.  The park is about 0.5 miles up the street and there is mostly street parking.  You can park most places on the streets that surround the park

To get to the ride start from the north, exit I-5 at Carlsbad Villiage Drive, turn right and go under the freeway, and then left onto Pio Pico Drive that immediately follows the on-ramp heading south.  The park is about 0.2 miles south and there is mostly street parking.

There are restrooms at the park, but not of high quality.

Any questions? Call me at 858-509-9808, or cell at 858-775-4021 (also on the route slip).
Come join us for another adventure!

Tony

Sorry if this is a repeat for some of you, but our mail service provider (Yahoo) and others have been under a DoS (Denial of Service) attack for a few days now...
