Sherry and I will be doing a non-scheduled ride Sunday for those who wish to join us.
Starting at College Blvd bike trail parking lot (two blocks or so North of Mission (rt 76) ) at the start of the paved bike path that goes to Oceanside Harbor. Sometimes the parking lot is full because of the popularity of the bike path but there is parking close by.
From there it's a straight shot to Oceanside. Then it's North and through the Plains of Pendleton and skirting the beach at San Onofre to the Ranger Post close to San Clemente. We'll turn around there and enjoy a slight tail wind as we head on back to the harbor for lunch. After lunch we'll enjoy a leisurely cruise (and full tail wind) back down the bike path to our cars.
Ez deal.
Meet at the parking lot early enough for a 9am departure time.
Directions to the park and ride parking lot..... from the East....
5 North to
78 West to
College Ave. North past
76 (mission ave) about 1/4 to park and ride lot on left. (before the bridge)
You have to go across the bridge and turn left and then make a U turn and backtrack to the lot.
From the West........
5 North to
76 East to
College Ave. North
about 1/4 to park and ride lot on left. (before the bridge)
You have to go across the bridge and turn left and then make a U turn and backtrack to the lot.
Special Note:
Don't forget your drivers license or passport or ID for getting into Pendleton.
This is a dealbreaker and will ruin your day if you forget it.
