Having problems with message search?
I have lurked on the SD Tandem yahoo group for a # of years. I have a tandem, but I am more of a racer . I hope it is OK, but I thought, if you have not before you would like to get a first hand viewing of some great bicycle racing.
On Wednesday May 3rd & 24th, at the Del Mar Fair parking lot, Swamis and Raceplan are putting on the last two of a 4 event series. The races start at 3pm, go off about every 30 minutes, and the pro race is at 6:40pm. If you are riding along the coast you should ride over and check it out.
The course is short and you will see some fantastic racing. The great advantage of the short course is it is very spectator friendly. From any where on the course you can see all the action. Parking is free, The Del Mar Fair grounds are conveniently located in North County.
If that is not enough reason to come, we are putting on a little entertainment for kids. This will included: short races inside the main course, picture opportunities in the awards ceremonies area for all kids, and free of charge, a bouncing unit called "under the sea" with has an enclosed bouncing room, slide and a basketball hoop attached.
Kids events start at 5:30 pm on both May 3rd & 24th.
So come on down to the fair grounds this Wednesday and check out the races.
