Hi Tandemists,
This Sunday Sarah and I (Team Gravity) will be leading a ride from SDTC World Headquarters out through Rancho Sante Fe, Elfin Forest, Harmony Grove to Escondido for lunch (at Al and Steve's local favorite spot). We'll return via Del Dios and more Rancho Sante Fe and Fairbanks Ranch to return to headquarters. Mileage will be about 50 (we're training for summer touring) and altitude climb will be about 3300 feet total. This is an old favorite route and is beautiful this time of year; the lakes are full and the flowers are in bloom.
We'll also have route slips at the ride start for those wishing to zip around this course at a faster pace and finish earlier, and I'll send it out before the ride. I'll also post the ride information at our new Yahoo website if you misplace this email. Ride start is 9:00 AM, and the weather looks good but perhaps a little colder than normal for this time of year. Total climb is about 3300 feet spread out primarily among the first 30 miles, but sections can be cut out or shortened for those desiring less challenge. We'll have the Olivenheim route slip for a 30 miler that splits off from the long group after 20 miles as an alternative.
To get to our house, exit I-5 from either direction at Del Mar Heights and head west (uphill toward the ocean) to Boquita Drive at the top of the hill (just past the light at Mango). Turn right on Boquita Drive and go nearly two full blocks to 14048, the third house on the left before the next intersection. Feel free to walk inside the garage and house door to get to the bathroom if needed -- it's marked with a quarter moon on the door and is to the right as you come down the hallway. (Please keep the door to the garage closed after you enter so the cats don't wander out.)
