Come join Sherry and I and ride the long green valleys and oak groves of Mesa Grande.
23 miles, 3 turns, 3 roads, 1 stop sign……now that's a back country ride!!
The start will be in Santa Ysabel – park on the dirt parking lot behind the Julian Pie Company. From there it's up 79 and a gradual climb out of Santa Ysabel valley. Over the top and a straight fast downhill to the bottom and Morettis Junction (76 – it comes up quick but there are big signs and a cattle guard will let you know when you are close). From there we skirt Lake Henshaw to Mesa Grande Rd. Then it's time to get out the climbing gears as we spin our way up to the top . The views to the north on this challenging climb of Mt. Palomar and the Lake are spectacular. Once over the top it's quiet rolling green hills and valleys all the way back to 79 and lunch at Santa Ysabel.
Wheels roll at 10am so try and get there around 9:30…
