Solved my wheel problem
Hi all,
Ya, if you recall, I was the stoker with a new KHS Alite, running fat
Richie knobbies for offroad. The rear wheel seemed to come out of
true after each hard ride...
I took it back to Chuck at Pacific Coast Cycles, and he noticed that
the rear wheel wasn't dished properly. Since I bought the bike
through him, he fixed it for nothing, though it took a long time in
the truing stand. He blamed KHS, and partly himself for not
double-checking their work.
Since, the bike's been a dream. We pound through potholes, hammer up
rocky trails, and the fat knobby hasn't rubbed yet. It is kinda
frustrating that I had to take it in so frequently, but I am sure
glad that it is fixed.
We've been riding around Lake Hodges each weekend morning, more or
less. It's super fun, out there early, with almost no one
else. Chilly though! I'm glad I'm not the captain!
;-)
